After Oan's second painful landing, Hiruko walked over to help him up. "You're going to need to properly rest that wing or it will never heal," he warned him. "Come and sit down for a bit, I'm sure Kiryu has a lot to tell us."
He walked back over to Hayashi who was groaning quietly. Opening a drawer filled with different herbs and bottles of pastes and liquids, Hiruko took out a bottle with a thick, green paste inside. He opened it and began rubbing it on Hayashi's wounds. Hayashi flinched and roared slightly before he got used to the pain and settled. "So...I see you have newcomers," Hayashi said referring to Oan and Kiryu.

'Thank you Hiruko' Oan was grateful for the help.
His wing was frozen still and he couldn't move it, the pain was lancing through him and he flinched with every stab. He moved over to a small bench and perched himself down folding his injured wing inwards to help it heal.
Across the den was Kiryu, Oan did not know what to make of what happened or what to think of the fox anymore, the power to resurrect was something Oan had never seen before, he would wait for Kiryu's explanation before he voiced his concerns. Oan considered the other creatures around him, most of them strangers. The one known as Mira was curled up sleeping, the two recently born pups dozing peacefully under her tail. Hiruko was tending to Hayashi and his injuries. At the entrance to the den were two creatures he had not yet met but he was sure he would soon.
Oan closed his eyes and meditated, a process he learned on his home-world to help relax and aid in healing.

"Here," Hiruko said leaving Hayashi once more and opening the drawer again. He got a bandage out a wrapped it securely round his wing. "It's just to keep it secure and in place." He felt like a doctor this evening. Eyeing Kiryu curiously, he waited for Seirei and Tersias' return.

Their reunion was wonderful, but Tersias knew that they were needed. "Seirei, we need to go back in" she said quietly, nuzzling her snout into his fur before turning to head back inside. The den felt much busier than when she had left it.

Seirei smiled down at Tersias fondly. 'Ok then,' he said. Together, they walked back into Hiruko's den and out of the rain. 'Wait a sec, Ters.' He paused at the entrance and shook himself down from head to foot, fur ruffling and sending droplets everywhere. 'That's better!' He smiled down at his now quite damp mate. 'Didn't want to leave a puddle.'
He probably sounded a little too cheery, but it was in an attempt to cover up his true emotions at that time, emotions that grew more in anxiety as they walked further into the main room of the den, where they would no doubt hear Kiryu's story. Seirei tensed a little when he caught sight of Hayashi, instinctively emitting a low rumble of a growl in his throat, but he saw how Hiruko was taking care of him and let things be. He and his mate settled down on the floor at the edge of the room. Seirei scooped up Sai and Kai with his tail and pulled them closer to him protectively, letting them tumble and play over his back.

Kiryu laughed to himself a little, it's funny how attitudes change when you come back from the dead. This wouldn't be a gather round the campfire and lets tell stories, Kiryu strolled into the middle of the room dragging his wing behind him.
"I'd listen up, cause I'm only gonna tell this once." He sighed loudly, "I've been dead for around 9000 years now.... I was a warrior on my homeworld, under a leader, who lied to us, we did terrible terrible things and finally... " He paused "we were betrayed. I died for the first time on that day, distracting a large opposing force long enough so that the others in my unit could escape."
Kiryu looked down sadly "for my actions, I was sent to Hell, an eternity of damnation a small price to pay for the evils we had unknowingly commited. You lose track of the day's but I spent centuries being tortured, pitted in fight rings and being punished for refusing to follow orders. The horrible acts creatures like Koatia commit are acts of salvation compared to what you'd experience in the underworld, it was there I was given the gift to resurrect. In such a place it can hardly be called a gift, I've experienced the agony of death thousands of times, each more creatively horrible than the last. Mulched, blown up, sliced in half, I've been there, the pain doesn't stop at death you keep feeling as your body pulls itself back together. Every nerve in your body screaming in an agony they shouldn't experience."
"You learn to be quick, or they catch you more often, you try not to betray whatever tattered values you once hold. Some become basic primal animals, sacrificing others to shield themselves, a frenzied need for survival. Before I came to Tialka, I was in a battle with a particularly tough demon, Sargeas. I'd gotten in the fight trying to let a newcomer escape, it was a tough battle, the demons power when in the underworld is exemplified. Their near immortal, it's not a fight that ever ends prettily. I wrapped my wing around me to try and focus on healing a gash in my stomach as the demon bashed through." Kiryu stretched out his wing showing one of the holes, the feathers had broken. "Sargeas did that before whatever happened, I woke up here in Tialka."
Kiryu walked towards the door of the den "I didn't know that the effect of the underworld was still on me and didn't think I would resurrect, but I guess this means I'm still technically dead...."
Kiryu walked out into the rain and sat down holding his wing above him to shield the water droplets.

Hiruko sat quietly listening to Kiryu's story. Once he had finished, Hiruko felt a wave of discomfort knowing that his friend was technically dead. "This is a dark curse," he said. "Useful but nevertheless a curse." He felt some sympathy for the fox however he felt that Kiryu was the type who didn't care for sympathy.
He had now finished with Hayashi's wounds and had wrapped his shoulder ones into a bandage. As for his face, they would have to clear on their own. As Kiryu left, Hiruko quickly went to check on Mira who was sound asleep with the cubs. The cubs squirmed now and then but were generally fast asleep. He wanted to join them but he had responsibilities to take care of. He sure was tired but his will power kept him going for a little longer to make sure everyone was feeling okay.

Seirei had stared at Kiryu in disbelief during the entire retelling of the fox's past. He wasn't quite sure he understood every word of it, but he was sure that as time went on, and if Kiryu was willing to let them in to his complicated world, then perhaps one day they would fully understand. It was a little unnerving to think that a creature with such immense powers, whether granted willingly or otherwise, could exist. So far Seirei had trusted Kiryu, trusted their newcomer like all the others that had arrived in the past, and although he saw no reason as to why this should change, Seirei made a mental note to keep an eye on any progressions in these 'abilities' in the future.
The night had dragged on and Seirei was shattered, both physically and emotionally, but Koatia was still out there, planning goodness knows what. The Tree of Life had protected them for now, but how would the rest of Tialka match up to any further threats? Seirei caught glimpses of Hiruko pacing around the den, checking on the others now and then, before his eyelids finally flickered shut as he fell deeply asleep.

Oan's wing felt better in the sling that Hiruko provided him and the pain was lifting away. He sat quietly and listened to Kiryu's explanation. He still needed to be convinced of the fox's true nature and thought maybe these 'abilities' that he possessed should be tested. Oan had never known such a power before and it could be dangerous in the wrong hands.
'Kiryu, what you're saying can have massive ramifications for us and Tialka. What if the demon's were to follow you or find you here?'

A chill had come over Tersias as Kiryu spoke. As disturbing as his revelation was, that wasn't what was bothering her. As she watched him speak, the sky darkened and her eyes clouded over. She felt a sinking sense of dread as the vision began to engulf her... Tersias found herself stood on the plains, looking out over Tialka. The sky was black, and clouds hung heavily in the sky, almost as if threatening to smother all beneath them. Taking a step forwards, she found that the grass underfoot was brittle and charred, and glancing down in confusion she realised it was singed and ashen. There was no sign of life - the trees stood barren and gnarled, and no birds sang. Terrified, she ran across the plains, heading home towards the den. As she moved through Tialka, it was the same everywhere she went - everything was cold and dark and dead. Running into the den, she was hugely relieved to find the cubs curled up asleep and Seirei stood watch over them. But his expression spoke of the bleakness of the Tialka they stood in. "We can't hold out much longer, Tersias... One more wave of them and they'll overwhelm us. And how do you defeat an army that are already dead?" Tersias gasped for breath and whimpered as she drowned in the grim, solemn scene.

Kiryu remained outside sadly, "escape was unheard of, demons whilst holders of tremendous power are weaker outside of their own realm." The rain continued to pour dripping through the foxes broken wing.
"I don't think they'll be coming after me, I don't even know how I got here...."

Hiruko stared from one person to the other. Each of them that had heard Kiryu's story was filled with an unnamed fear. Hiruko felt it too. He brushed the thought out of his mind however as there were more important matters to attend to in the present. Tersias seemed to be stuck in a transfixed gaze. "Are you okay Tersias?" he asked her as she seemed to hold a look of horror on her face.
"It's been a long night and I thank all of you for your help," he told them. "However, I must return to Mira and the cubs. Hayashi also needs some rest." He didn't want to push them out so soon but sitting around worrying about what could happen rather than taking care of the present was going to help them.
Hiruko hurried over to Hayashi who was now sound asleep. Although Hayashi was much bigger built than he was, Hiruko couldn't help but notice how vulnerable and weak his brother looked with his head held limply over his shoulder and the wounds gashed across his face and shoulder at jagged angles. As Hiruko's eyes moved lower, he also caught sight of an older wound, the one he had caused almost a lifetime ago: three pale pink scars ran diagonally across his chest. Though they were deserved at the time, Hiruko couldn't help but feel a sense of guilt.
Moving from the living space to the bedroom, he shut the door behind him and lay down next to a resting Mira and the two nameless cubs snuggled up beside her. His happiness was restored and a deep sleep soon followed that happiness.

Tersias surfaced from the vision with a sudden jerk. Bristling, she turned to Kiryu. "They know you're here" she said coldly "And you need to leave." She looked him in the eye, deadly serious "You need to leave now and never come back."

Seirei's eyes snapped open with a start. His dreams of his former home had been interrupted by Tersias' outcry. He recognised that look on her face, the expression she wore when a vision entered her thoughts. 'Tersias ...' He quickly got up and stood in front of her, blocking her view of Kiryu so she could focus on himself. She wasn't being herself, either that or her vision was making her behave like this. 'Tersias snap out of it, hun.' Seirei was used to helping her through these episodes. She had them frequently, ranging from a few confused seconds to a full trance. She wasn't moving, so he managed to nudge her to the side of the room, emptier now that Hiruko and Mira had retired to their bedroom. 'What was it?'

She whimpered, "He needs to leave" she simply said, dazed. "He needs to leave, you have to make him leave Seirier, you have to make him leave now!" she was shaking, her mind was fixed on one thing and one thing only - she needed to get Kiryu as far away from her cubs as fast as possible "Please seirei, just get rid of him!"

Seirei's brow furrowed with worry. I can't just make someone go ... I wish she could explain why. 'Oh Ters,' he sighed. There was nothing more he could do, he needed to get her back home. Perhaps the pups being close by would comfort her. Quickly picking Sai and Kai up by the scruffs of their necks, he lifted Tersias' shaking body onto his back and trotted out of Hiruko's front door. After a brief glance at Kiryu, he launched himself into the air and headed for home.

Oan was still confused as to what might happen. Although he was a newcomer to Tialka himself he had already began to think of this place as home. Turning to the snowy white fox he saw a glazed and intense expression on her face as though she was here but somewhere else at the same time.
Suddenly she seemed to come back to Tialka and turning to Kiryu she launched at him, telling him he had to leave and leave now. Oan saw Seirei move to intercept and calm her down, not knowing what was happening Oan stared in confusion. Seirei had lifted the cubs that followed him and Tercias up and flew into the rainy sky.
Oan did not know what his next move would be, he could not fly yet and his home was in the trees, he curled up in the corner and hoped Hiruko would not mind him sleeping in the den for the night.
Closing his eyes, weariness overtook him and he drifted off, his dreams filled with the recent battle, the pain from his injuries and the recent revelations that had come to pass...and what their ramifications would be.

Kiryu sighed, he flicked the water off his wing. Kicking off Kiryu took to the skies and flew away from the den. He had decided it was time to head for home, he was tired and needed some sleep. Goodbye didn't seem appropriate today, he flew off into the rain narrowly missing lightning that flew through the sky.
