Oan had followed the group back to the den staying back slightly to ensure they were not followed and now they were safe Oan needed to land, the damage to his wing would be permanent without rest.
He approached fast slowing down was difficult with one wing and he crashed into the den, rolling over and coming to a rest by the inner entrance.
'Not one of my finest landings' He said staring at the others.

Seirei now sat in a corner of Hiruko's den, wings enclosing him in a cocoon of feathers, hiding his face from view. He could not believe what had happened. He had only known the fox for a few short weeks and he had let him die. When he had reached the den before the others, he had done everything he could: clean the wounds, splash water on him, pummel his chest with a paw, all in an attempt to get his life going again. But to no avail. I killed him, he thought, his mind clouding over in deep depression If I had chosen to fight instead of land I could have prevented this... He curled himself up even tighter. Outside, great clouds knitted together angrily and a heavy rainfall started up; the roar of water against leaf could be heard even inside. The sky was weeping for Seirei when he himself could not.

Oan looked up and saw Seirei huddled in the corner, he looked over and saw the fox he had battled with lying lifeless. Oan did not need an explanation.
'No...he can't be...' Oan muttered to himself. He had only known the fox for a few minutes really, and those were minutes spent in battle.
Waiting for no one Oan turned around and flew into the sky heading back to the tree. Kiryu must be avenged.

Mira was sleepy after having given birth. Pulling her two cubs closer to her, she curled up around them, her tail resting gently on them as a sort of blanket. It didn't take her very long to fall asleep.

Watching Mira fall asleep, Hiruko let her be with the two cubs as although he was their father, at this early stage their mother would be their closest elder. He got up slowly and walked into the other room which was rather quiet and tense. He put a paw on Seirei who seemed to be thinking deeply with an anxious look about him. "It's okay Seirei," he reassured him. "You were brilliant, his time had come. But let us remind ourselves of who caused our loss tonight." Hiruko's voice was stern and strong. "Koatia. He was the cause of Kiryu's death. And although I do not believe in revenge, we must all remember why we are fighting for our tribe." He looked round to each of them in turn, hoping to spark a bit of courage and hope into their hearts. Unfortunately, it may have sparked a little more than that for Oan as he flew out of sight. Wondering whether he should go and persuade him to come back, Hiruko had another reason to return to the battle: Hayashi. Despite what Hayashi had done previously, he had put himself in the way of Koatia's wrath to help them escape. "I...I must go," he said to Seirei. "Hayashi! He's still out there. And strong and swift as he is, Koatia has dark magic up his sleeves."

The grass in the distance rustled. Suddenly there was a flurry and a tumble, and a muddy, exhausted Tersias rolled into view, quickly followed by two blurs of fluff. "Boys! Calm Down!"

Seirei faintly heard Hiruko's voice in the background. Something about going back into the fight? He slowly lifted his right wing a few inches away from his face to look at Hiruko's expression. Nothing Seirei could say would dissuade that determination. His voice was low and lifeless as he spoke, 'If anyone can do it Hiruko ... you can. I would help you but ...' Seirei's eyes were bloodshot, his mouth dry. His mind wandered off into a dark void, ignoring everything around him. Only one person would have a chance at pulling him out. I miss you Tersias ... so much ...

Kiryu's body lay in a corner, his silver fur sparkling in the same way it had done in life. A feather sprouted from the Fox's back, another and another, his wing returned as it had been before he fell. His heart began to beat again, just once, there was a long pause before another beat, but they soon they continued faster and faster. Kiryu's vital organs began functioning, as the blood reached his lungs he took in a deep breath, his brain began whirring, accessing the situation.
He began regaining his senses, sight came back to him and hearing soon after. He stretched his muscles almost involuntarily, he wasn't where he asked to be taken upon his death, it didn't matter.
"I cannot believe that worked!" He cried out, whirring again, more accessing. "I guess I've got some explaining to do" he said picking up on the solemn mood.

Following the tumbling cubs, Tersias made her way slowly through the grass. Seeing the dead Kiryu on the ground, she screamed. "Oh my god... Ohmygodohmygodohmygod!!!!" She was hyperventilating, her eyes transfixed on the still, cold fox. Suddenly, a bizarre scene began to unfold. Tersias fell silent, watching the macabre event unfold as the cubs continued to scuffle, oblivious.

Seirei couldn't believe it. The fox ... was alive? How could that be? And what was more, 'Tersias?!' he exclaimed, as his fluffy companion tumbled into the den, followed by two of their cubs. The conflicting emotions were too much. The relief of seeing his mate, the confusion over Kiryu's death. Anger took over. With one kick he launched himself at the fox, tiny in comparison, in one swipe and tackled him to the floor. He didn't know what he was doing, it was as if the anger wanted one thing and his head another.

"SEIREI" she called out sternly, suddenly coming back to her senses. "SEIREI, STOP IT" she launched herself towards Seirei and Kiryu. She knew she couldn't pull him away from the fox, but if she could just get in between them... Wriggling into the gap under Seirei's front legs, she wedged herself between Seirei and Kiryu. "Seirei" she said, quietly, "Stop this"

Seirei's eyes had dilated scarily to an intense black, snarls escaping from his throat, drool trickling through the gaps between his bared teeth. Do it ... A voice in his head was telling him. You know you want to ... you enjoy fury, you enjoy rage ... you enjoy me, don't you? The tension could be cut with a knife. Kiryu lay on his back, pinned to the ground by Seirei's two front paws, whose tail swished violently from side to side, scattering sparks across the room. He raised his right paw, talons bared, preparing to strike when - 'Tersias ...'
His beautfully minute and stern mate stood between the angery wolf and his prey, the only one who could reach into his heart. The anger faded almost instantly. Tears started rolling down his muzzle. He couldn't stand it. Seirei leaped off Kiryu in a flash and crashed his way out the door of the den and out into the rain. He sat, just a few feet away, and let the rain pour over his fur. With great energy and emotion, he let out one loud, powerful howl that echoed across the whole of Tialka. Everyone would hear Seirei the Moonlight Wolf's cry tonight.

In one corner of the room, the cubs stopped scuffling and looked up, bemused. "Daddy?" Kai piped up quietly, looking solemn as he watched the figure of his father slinking from the den silently. Fear, sadness and confusion fought one another in the tiny heart of the cub, as his bottom lip wobbled and he turned to face his mother, who was still planted on the ground beside Kiryu, trembling a little. "Mummy?" he whimpered, barely audible. Tersias took a few deep breaths. Looking at Kiryu, and seeing that he was ok, she turned to her shivering cubs. "Shhh, shhh, it's ok" she whispered reassuringly, rubbing her head agaisnt her trembling child. "It's ok, Kai." It was some minutes before he stopped whining. The air in the den was still and the silence hung. She directed a glance at the door to the den. "Stay here, Kai. I have to talk to daddy" she whispered "Everything is going to be ok". She moved to the door, and stood in the doorway, a few yards away from Seirei. "Seirei?"

Seirei sighed, partly with relief and partly with exhaustion. He heard his mate call over to him in the shelter of the doorway. How stupid he had made himself look. Slowly, he turned around to face her, his face appeared very gaunt what with the rain wetting down his fur.
'Tersias, I ... I'm so sorry ...' He hung his head in shame. 'I - I didn't know what was happening to me. I just felt so ... dark.'
He couldn't bare the separation from Tersias any longer. He rushed towards her, his heart open, and embraced her warmly, licking the tip of her muzzle. Everything's as it should be, he thought happily. Our family is back together

Post by Hiruko Koudo on Feb 5, 2012 7:08:15 GMT -1
Hiruko had already left by the time the commotion had begun and was unaware of the events that had occurred. As he reached the Tree of Life however, he heard the echo of Seirei's howl and an unfamiliar chill ran down his spine.
Continuing however, he rushed to the spot where Hayashi and Koatia had been just over an hour ago. There was no sign of them. Worried that either Hayashi was badly hurt or he had played tricks on him and was still on Koatia's side, Hiruko decided to investigate. No, he can't have gone back to Koatia he thought whilst scanning the area for any signs. He risked his life for us and did nothing to help Koatia. However, if this was true, Koatia wouldn't leave Hayashi to survive. Brushing the thought from his mind, Hiruko heard a low moaning from up ahead. In a speedy dash, Hiruko found the source: his brother, lying pitifully against the bottom of the trunk of a tree. He hadn't noticed Hiruko's arrival since his eyes were squinted with pain. "Brother..." Hiruko said calmly and sat by his side, assessing the injuries. There were only two slashes to his face and a few to his shoulder but this was not the main cause of his weakness. Koatia dealt in dark magic and his electric attacks were his main choice for battle. He had probably sent more than enough volts through Hayashi. But why was he still alive? Hayashi finally opened his eyes and weakly looked at Hiruko through reddened whites of his eyes. "Do..it," he struggled. "Do what...you came for." Hiruko stood there puzzled. He was going to help his brother but Hayashi made it seem like it was a bad thing. "What are you waiting for?" he continued. "Strike me down, there's not much left of me anyway." Hiruko now understood. "I haven't come here to kill you, Hayashi," he said to him. "I've come back to help you."
"L...lies," Hayashi said with struggled gasps. "Why would...a..anyone save a traitor."
"I was going to ask the same thing about Koatia."
"He thought you...or the others would...come back...and destroy me for what I'd done previous to these...events," Hayashi explained.
"Then you are lucky that our tribe believes in something Koatia doesn't," Hiruko said. "Forgiveness." Hayashi said nothing but a sense of relief seemed to untense him slightly. "Now let me give you a hand." He put Hayashi's arm around his shoulder and pulled him to his feet. He was so weak that Hiruko had to bear most of his weight.
"I'm going to have to teleport for this," he said and in a flash, the forest and plain had disappeared and they were standing back in the familiar den. Hiruko laid him down to rest and noticed two things: firstly, Tersias was back! Secondly, Kiryu was standing, alive!
"Welcome back, Tersias!" Hiruko said, smiling at her. She had her two cubs by her side but there was a great deal of tension in the air. "So...what's going on?" Hiruko sat tending to Hayashi's gashes whilst he awaited an answer from one of them.

Kiryu hadnt resisted Seireis rage, loss is something very tough to cope with, even moreso when that person ressurects before your very eyes.
It would have mattered little if Kiryu had been struck down for a second time today, none the less he owed Tersias a thank you. But it could wait they were reunited she could be his bastion for support and to cool the burning fury that being so closely tied to the elements could provide. Kiryu felt a twinge of sadness he couldn't place and sighed quietly.
Hiruko and Hayashi had appeared moments later, Kiryu sat up. Judging by the others reactions this wasn't common on Tialka, meaning it had to have been from before. At that moment the fox had never felt so alone.

Oan was flying...very badly. Soaring high above the plains he could see Koatia and Hayashi in the field. He started circling, decreasing his height and saw that it was not Koatia but Hiruko with Hayashi.
In an instant they disappeared and Oan blinked over and over to make sure his head was not damaged when he landed. They were nowhere in sight, the pain in his wing stabbing at him he turned and headed back to the den.
This landing would not be graceful and could in fact be worse than the last. His injured wing refused to move and Oan was using all of his concentration to form air currents and keep himself aloft. Seeing the entrance ahead of him he released himself from the current and began to glide, he was still going to fast and for the second time he rolled into the den smashing against a wall on the far side.
'Sorry guy's, my wing is now completely out of action' Oan could feel the tension in the air, looking around he saw the Kiryu standing in the room...living...breathing.
'Kiryu?!?!?!?!, you died, I saw your body, I saw your life end, what did I miss?' Oan stared in disbelief.

Kiryu looked up, noting that Oan had reappeared from wherever he had gone. "It's a long story..." he said with a sigh. "I will tell it, your all entitled to know, but I will only do so once!" he affirmed pointing out towards Tersias and Seirei outside.
"We wait"
