Kiryu looked around, had big Hiruko changed his mind, he stood in front of Koatia. Watching as the ice collapsed, he called out to the others "I don't know about you all, but I don't wait for the fight to begin."
Kiryu sped towards Koatia, "Ill do this either with or without you" he beckoned the others, before breaking the ice to hit Koatia, with incredible speed he attacked. The dust storm partially blinding the fox, using it to his advantage he timed a hit with his wing, throwing first dust at Koatia, the wing approached quickly and with force.

When the two cubs were born, Hiruko could only sigh with relief. One was a white, stripy cub and the other was a golden cub. They were so small. Hiruko only felt his love for them grow more and more. But as Mira and Hiruko had smiles on their faces, Mylar was frowning with horror. "The golden cub..." he pointed to it. "It's...it's not going to make it!" Hiruko's heart skipped a beat.
"What? Are you sure?" Sure enough, whilst the white cub was squirming and squeaking, the golden one lay motionless, mouth open slightly. "What can we do?" Hiruko was welling up tears and they began streaming down his face in seconds. He hugged Mira close and held the little cub in his paw.

Oan watched the silver fox attack Koatia and turned to see what Hiruko and the others were planning. There on the grassy plains lay two small cubs, stripy white and golden.
'Mazel tov guys' Smiled Oan. He stopped smiling when he saw the golden one lay still. Cursing himself he turned back to the fight.
Beating his wings he lifted himself from the ground and soared into the skies, through the dust storm he could make out Koatia, turning he flew towards him at full speed, his wings outstretched ready to hit.

Mira's exhausted smile evaporated instantly. "Wh-what?" she stuttered, fear clear on her face. She looked at her two children. "NO!" Mira gasped, tears coming to her eyes.
The white cub, a female, was squirming as Hiruko had observed, but she had a destination in mind. She squeaked blindly, and stretched a paw out to the male golden cub. As her paw touched his, it twitched in recognition, but made no other movement. His chest stopped moving - he was close to death.
A light yellow glow erupted from their daughter, and Mira watched on in astonishment. The glow engulfed her body, then started to creep over their son's. Eventually, the two were covered in the yellow light.
Mira's heart stopped, then redoubled in speed - his chest was moving again, slowly at first, then quickly, then it settled into a steady rhythm. Her daughter drew her paw away, and the glow faded, but he was still breathing.
She couldn't believe it - their son was ALIVE! Grinning, she looked up at Hiruko and Mylar, tears of relief running down her face.

His sight was not the best at most times, yet in this sandstorm Koatia could barely make out a thing. Broken free from the ice he engaged Kiryu in hand to hand combat, this fox was fast and he was knocked back being hit by a wing that came from the dark. Enraged he slashed back at the fox who took a hit to the shoulder, Kiryu winced sharply. Koatia was not done pressing the attack when Skyhawk hit the wolf at full speed, knocked backwards Koatia disappeared into the darkness.
Kiryu peered into the sandstorm, "I can't see him, can you?" he called out to Skyhawk above him. The sandstorm cut out any ability to hear. Kiryu muttered angrily, when out of nowhere a bolt of lightning hit him. Yelping in pain Kiryu was lifted into the air, a blue cloud enveloped the fox and massive electrical pain engulfed Kiryu. The fox felt like he was on fire, trying to break free in vain the fox shouted into the cloud. He couldn't see either Hayashi or Skyhawk, "find him, while he's distracted" Kiryu called out as loudly as possible.
Koatia felt the force Kiryu took to break through the spell if momentarily, and intensified the pain as punishment for defying him. Whilst Kiryu had an edge in hand to hand combat, when enshrouded in shadow, his magical ability took prominence. The attack was draining Koatia, but he kept the attack going, this creature would die for it's insolence.

((OOC - Oan, I don't think you could really use a jewish term in a land with no religion :/))
Seirei was almost there now. Looking down below he could make out everybody; pretty much the whole gang was there: Mira and Hiruko crouched on the grass at the bass of the tree, huddled over something he couldn't quite make out, Kiryu and Oan on the defensive ... And the scummy presence of Koatia and Hayashi. Hiruko and Kiba had been right all along - they had returned.
It seemed as if Kiryu and Oan were prepared to fight their enemy head on, but Seirei was torn. Should he use his element of surprise and dive blindly in? Or assess the situation once he had reached the ground? Seirei decided that recon was best. Barely slowing down in time, Seirei darted through the invisible sphere of protection and crashed to the ground, doing several somersaults before skidding to a halt a few feet away from the other two founders. Ignoring his now pounding head, he made his way straight to them to ask about the situation, 'Hiruko! Mira! I-' he stopped dead when he saw the two new borns between them. 'What the-'

After the miracle that had happened in front of his eyes, Hiruko's tears were no longer of sorrow and grief but of joy. He hugged Mira tight and kissed her on the cheek whilst snuggling the two squirming cubs gently. Outside, a battle was enraging and he felt bad for leaving the others to do the dirty work.
Suddenly, Seirei burst in, obviously unaware of everything that had happened and Hiruko could only smile and laugh slightly when he saw the confusion on Seirei's face. "Long story," Hiruko said to him. "But I'm a father now!" As he laughed, he looked outside and saw Hayashi staring in at them, smiling too. He looked so different now, like the brother he used to know before jealousy corrupted his heart.
"Hayashi! Get over here and help me crush these vermin!" Koatia shouted. Hayashi turned around to see Kiryu and Oan fighting off the giant wolf that he had been helping out for such a long time. He was conflicted with fear and courage, he so badly wanted to make things right again but it was a risky situation. Making his choice, Hayashi ran at the wolf. "There's only one vermin that will be crushed!" he shouted as he kicked Koatia in the jaw.
Falling to the floor, Koatia was shocked by Hayashi's sudden change of heart. He soon got back up however and snarled at his once loyal partner. "They will not accept you back now, they will still see you as what you truly are, as can I! Your heart is still black like mine."
"No. Things change. I can change."
Koatia growled in anger and leapt at the Torakan, hitting him across the face causing blood to spill on the ground. Hayashi retaliated with a blow to the wolf's chest. He held the wolf down whilst calling to Oan and Kiryu: "YOU TWO! TELL THE OTHERS TO RUN TO A SAFE PLACE! SOMEWHERE THAT KOATIA DOES NOT KNOW! YOU MUST ESCORT THEM THERE SAFELY! THE TREE OF LIFE MAY PROTECT THEM BUT KOATIA WILL NOT LEAVE UNTIL SOMEONE STEPS OUT OF THE BARRIER. GO!"

((OOC - Seirei, sorry, won't happen again :/))
Oan pulled out of the attack, his wing hurting and bruised from the impact, below he heard the fox calling him to find the wolf. Gently flapping his wings he blew the sandstorm clear. The Torakan who was not Hiruko was holding the wolf down. Oan heard him shout out to help Hiruko and the others.
'Not before I leave that wolf a parting gift' Oan thought.
Extending his claws Oan dived once more towards the wolf and raked his three long claws across his face.
Spiralling upwards he turned again and flew towards Hiruko and the others at the tree of life.

The second Hayashi hit Koatia, the lightning stopped and Kiryu felt the world around him. The sandstorm was gone but he was gravely injured, Kiryu fell from the sky, racing towards the ground at incredible speed. Black feathers fell from his wing until it had disappeared from the Fox. He hit the ground with a large thud, leaving a crater in his wake. Kiryu used the last of his strength to call out "When this is over, take me home... to the waterfall."
Muttering something under his breath the Fox felt his heart break down due to the erratic effects of the lightning, this better work he thought, they just need to get me home... if they can keep themselves alive first.... Kiryu lay motionless in the crater, the last breath escaping from his muzzle as his feathers fell to the ground around him.

Seirei felt so proud of the two of them, a happy tear trickling down his muzzle. It felt strange having this conflict in emotions: happiness and fear. 'Congratulations guys, you finally did it. What do you think -' Seirei spun around as he saw in the corner of his eye Kiryu's limp body plummet to ground with such great force. Confident that Hiruko would protect his family, Seirei dashed out of the safety of the tree sphere and into the chaos. He had to dodge here and there to avoid the aftershock of the force created whenever Koatia and Hiyashi clashed together, but he finally reached the fox. 'C'mon Kiryu, you're not done yet.' Seirei flipped the fox onto his back and launched himself into the air, returning to the tree again in a matter of seconds. 'Hiruko! He needs help ...'

Seeing the wounds on Kiryu's body made Hiruko cringe. They would be painful when he awoke. Hiruko glanced into the distance to see Hayashi and Koatia battling it out, the fight getting further and further away from them. "Now is our chance to move," Hiruko announced. Oan had just arrived inside the barrier too. "Okay so we have to get out of here. We should go to my den, I need to get the cubs and Mira safe. Seirei, if you could fly Kiryu on your back to my den, I will greatly appreciate it. Oan, you can follow. Mylar, we will take the cubs back with Mira. Are you okay to walk Mira or do you want me to carry you again? If you'd like I can carry you and you can carry the cubs."
With the plan set, Hiruko awaited their responses in case there were any objections.

'I can fly but not for long, my wing is damaged after the blow with that wolf, although I left him a parting present' Oan said smiling. 'I'll take rear guard to make sure we're not followed'.
Oan took off into the sky and began to circle, cursing with pain he prepared to follow the group back to Hiruko's den. Looking down he could see Hayashi still pinning down the struggling Koatia.

Mira felt weak. "I feel selfish for asking you this, but I don't think I could walk." She scooped up her children, both squeaking now, and waited for Hiruko to pick her up. She hoped that Hayashi was really on their side now, and that he wouldn't let Koatia follow them. Maybe it was the birth of his new nephew and neice that had made him change, or that his time imprisoned had made him think about his actions.
Either way, it didn't matter - what mattered now was that he stayed on their side.

"Please don't feel selfish, I feel selfish for not sharing the pain you have just taken on for our children," he said softly. Once again, he picked her up gently and looked around at the others. "Let's move out." He glanced quickly in the direction of Hayashi and Koatia. He could not see them but could faintly hear the brutal fighting between them. It had been a long time since Hiruko had been defensive of his brother. Either way, his family here needed him and his cubs still had a chance. They squeaked in a high pitch, their eyes squinted closed since they were blind. If only they could have seen the beauty of the golden tree. He bent his knees in preparation for his departure and in a flash, he had sprinted across the plains.

Seirei nodded. 'Will do.' And with that he launched himself into the air with Kiryu on his back, following Hiruko's direction closely. He would do all he could to protect them from above as Hiruko carried his family across the battlefield and out towards their den. The energy being emitted from Hayashi and Koatia was still intense, every now and then sending boulder-sized pieces of earth randomly into the air. Seirei had to reduce them to dust with his lightning whenever one flew in the direction of his friends.
In no time at all they had made it across the plain and the forest could be seen in the distance growing closer and closer. Certain that Hiruko would be safe in the shelter of the trees, Seirei rose higher to glide above the canopy. He would need to reach Hiruko's den quicker than the others; Kiryu's injuries were serious.

As Hiruko raced across the plains, he couldn't help but smile at his little kittens. It had been remarkable how his daughter had healed his weak and dying son. She has obviously gained her mother's healing powers Hiruko thought to himself. Perhaps they will even surpass Mira's when she's older.
He finally reached the den and lay Mira down on the bed in their bedroom, the kittens curled up against their mother. Hiruko sat beside them and offered for Seirei to join them as well. Kiryu lay motionless on his back and he wasn't breathing. Checking the fox, Hiruko's confirmation was right...there was no pulse or breath. "This...this can't be," Hiruko said in shock. He had barely gotten to know him.

Mira stayed on the bed, despite wanting to know what was going on in the other room. Their daughter - We really need to think of names, she thought - was fast asleep, probably having been exhausted by her use of healing powers. Their son, on the other hand, was squirming a lot, as if rejoicing in the fact that he was now alive. Mira nuzzled him gently, smiling at the same fact.

In the other room, Hiruko grieved at the loss of his friend. Perhaps it just wasn't meant to be for him. Hiruko thought sorrowfully. But he has our respect and honour for protecting our tribe. He picked Kiryu up gently, the paws of the silver fox dangly limply from the sides. Mylar followed Hiruko feeling a deep sense of loss for one who could have found peace on their planet. Taking his friend outside a small distance away from his house, Hiruko covered the fox with the crisp brown leaves from the trees. He kneeled before the mound and summoned a single lily to grow before it. It was a symbol of pureness. Sensing Hiruko's grief, Mylar floated closer to him and patted a paw on his back. "You did what you could," Mylar said gently. Hiruko nodded in response and after a few minutes, returned to the den.
Despite the sorrow that had caught ahold of him, Hiruko couldn't help but feel a wave of joy when seeing his two cubs, one sound asleep whilst the other mewing and squeaking noisily. At least one was spared tonight he thought, looking at the golden cub and he couldn't be more grateful. Sitting next to Mira, he cuddled close to her, nuzzling her cheek in contentment whilst watching his son enjoying a more peaceful atmosphere.
