"Anything I can do to help" he yipped, a shy smile curling his lips. "I shall leave the logistics to you, the home is a personal thing afterall" he laughed. "When you know what you want, come find me" he added slyly, happy at the thought they may spent time together again soon.
Kiryu shook his head disapproving of Kurai's attitude and making a note of his general character. "Don't take any crap from him" Kiryu spat, "he is a guest in your home and should be appreciative as such." He sighed loudly "sorry, it's not my place to intervene." He paused slightly before adding "your more than capable of looking after yourself, afterall if he gets out of line, slip a little Paralox into his soup" he added, bearing a cheeky grin at Seema.
"I might build a guest house" he said. Changing the subject quickly, worried that he offended her. "That way if we lose track of time, you can stay there" he laughed nervously. "Despite the fact that my cave has guest rooms, Not many people are eager to stay there." In fact, noone has his mind ringing home the truth of his status, an outcast.

Seema smiled. The awkward part of the conversation had passed and the subject of Kurai was dealt with. She could now relax and go back to normal conversation.
"That really isn't neccessary, Kiryu" she blushed. "You don't need to go to all that hassle for my sake. A guest house would be so much work." Seema didn't want to be a burden to Kiryu. "That said, if you do decide to go ahead with one I'm more than happy to help."
She looked around. They were deep in the forest and she was unsure where they were. It struck her how far Kiryu lived from anyone and anything. "Don't you get lonely, living all the way out here on your own?" she asked softly, looking up at him. She felt bad for him, living alone like he did, but there was something else too. A little flutter of warmth when she looked at him. But it was nothing really, was it?

"I have a lot of free time on my hands" he pointed out. "I usually spend it expanding my home or training anyway, I could call it an extension." He laughed heartily, they were around half way back to Seema's home. A deep chill was descending upon them, his breath wafting lazily in the air ahead of him.
"It can be lonely" he said struggling with the question. "I mostly keep to myself, I'm not on great terms with some of the other Tialkans" he laughed, however it was a hollow laugh. "It's not as bad as you'd think, I keep busy and it's not nearly as far away when you can fly" he threw a big grin at Seema.
The long walk back emphasizing how much effort it took Seema to visit him, perhaps he should visit her treehouse more often. "Thank you, for coming to visit me today" he paused briefly, "in reality it appears that I put you through more hassle than you do for me." His cheeks flashed red and he chided himself for his discourtesy.

"It's such a beautiful place, it's just a shame that it's not easier to get to" she said a little sadly. "I enjoy these visits, it just takes such a long time to get to you." Realising that they were getting closer and closer to the treehouse by the minute, Seema's heart sank - she couldn't face Kurai right now, and she knew that when she got back he'd have something to say about how long she'd been out. Well, not say so much as do.
"We don't have to go straight to the house, do we?" she asked, desperate to find a reason to prolong the journey, her mind scrabbling for an excuse not to go back to the house. She still had a smile plastered on her face, but she was actually terrified. "I just really can't be bothered with going back to playing nursemaid yet" she laughed a little. "It's been such a lovely day, and you've been such good company, I just don't want it to finish yet" her face flushed a little.

Kiryu's heart leapt a beat, a coy smile curling across his lips. "I Think I know just the place" he stated cooly, leading Seema away from her home and towards the shores of Lacina Lake. The last remnants of sun quickly replaced by the stark illuminations of the moon.
They continued onward, the treetops creating deep shadows on the forest floor below. Kiryu moved a little closer to Seema, trying to keep an eye on her through the pervading darkness. They emerged onto the soft shores of Lacina, the soft sandy beach was a pleasure to walk upon. The crystal clear waters bearing the reflection of the moon. In the distance the Tree of Life was glowing casting, shades of gold onto the lakebed.
Kiryu gulped loudly, it seemed a little more romantic that he had planned, as such he panicked accordingly. He laughed a little too loudly, before uttering "this is the place!"

Seema smiled as Kiryu turned away from the treehouse. True, her first thought had been to delay seeing Kurai, but there was something else too. Something about Kiryu's company made the risk of Kurai's anger seem almost worth it. Nobody trusted Seema like Kiryu did, or treated her so well.
As they reached the shores of Lacina, Seema noticed Kiryu was walking a little closer. She started to blush, hoping that the darkness which had now enveloped the soft sand would also hide her flushed cheeks. She looked across the lake, watching the moon's reflection in the still water.
"I never would've thought to come here at night" she gasped, almost swooning. "There's something magical about it, isn't there?" she smiled, chancing a fleeting glance at Kiryu. Her face almost immediately flushed even brighter, and her stomach begin to tie itself in knots.

Staring out over the expanse of water, an awkward smile curled his lips. A cool breeze was whisked towards them, blowing his hair in the breeze. The feathers on his tattered wing ruffling majestically, as a single feather drifting lazily to the ground below them.
"The world is alive at night" he said mysteriously. "Its a complete contrast to the life we experience during the day" he elaborated as he turned in Seema's direction. "And yes, its magical" he beamed, gazing at her silver eyes, bathed in a golden glow. "Beautiful" he said impulsively. "Its err... really beautiful here at night" he corrected himself quickly, turning away as his cheeks flushed scarlet red.

Seema smiled up at Kiryu. When he had said "beautiful", something really quite strange and almost scary had come over her. Her heart thumped chaotically, the blood pulsing strongly enough to hear it in her ears, and her breath began to catch in the back of her throat as if somebody was trying to steal it away. Her cheeks flushed, and then all of a sudden Kiryu had basically taken it back before she'd even had a chance to respond.
Trying to hide her disappointment, Seema looked away, her feet suddenly providing a much more curious and interesting view than they normally would. But her face gave her away - the scarlet flooding her cheeks was a stark contrast to her silvery fur, which seemed all the paler by moonlight.
"So what if he doesn't think you're beautiful? What people think of you has never mattered before, why should it now?" a little voice in her head piped up, almost scolding her. But Seema knew that she couldn't ever listen to what it was saying, even if she wanted to. There was something special about Kiryu - it was just a shame that he didn't seem to see anything special about her.

The moonlight danced across the waters of the lake, a icy wing whisking its way through the treetops behind them. Kiryu shivered, using his paw to brush a strand of hair out of his eyes. He glanced at Seema, noticing the flush in her cheeks.
He smiled before stretching out his wing, subtly the feathers tickling her shoulders as he wrapped it around her. Looking down, he smiled awkwardly "I thought you might be cold." Lifting his head to stare out across the lake, the blush in his cheeks resurfaced.

The sudden physical contact caught Seema by surprise, and she smiled nervously. She couldn't say she had especially noticed the cold, but she could certainly tell the difference now she was getting warmth from Kiryu's wing.
"Thank you" she said softly, blushing even deeper. What did any of this mean? Her head was swimming. She had no idea what was going on, but she knew one thing - the closer she got to Kiryu, the more difficult this stunt with Kurai was going to be to follow through with.

Kiryu sat on the beach, his wing hanging gently over Seema's shoulder. Despite the biting cold, Kiryu was burning up, his rosy red cheeks a shining exemplar of this. "It's nothing" he gulped nervously, pretty sure he was sweating, completely uncouth and unbecoming.
How did I get myself into this situation, she's not pulling away, today was fantastic, what about Kai, they knew each other at Isel, and they live together! You don't deserve anyone! The complex wave of emotions blindsided him, leaving him dazed, struggling through his confusion. He needed clarity in doing so he had to push the sudden influx of thoughts to the back of his mind. It felt like he was choking, he coughed in a vain attempt to clear his throat.
Kiryu let his imagination take control, if he were standing at the edge of the lake, he would jump. "Seema" his voice was raspy and barely a whisper. "About Kai" he paused, take the plunge. "Are you two.... together, I mean you seemed acquainted back at Isel?" He felt alone, bearing himself on stage. Treading water in the middle of an ocean.

Sat beside Kiryu, Seema slowly grew redder and redder. When he said her name, he had somehow locked her gaze in his. She couldn't bear to look away, and felt herself edging closer to him, wondering what would happen next.
What did come next, though, she had definitely not expected. Her jaw dropped and she pulled away from Kiryu a little as she tried to gather her thoughts. Oh god, what do I say? Does he really think I'm with Kai? Or does he just know what's going on? Oh god oh god oh god!
She took a deep breath, trying to compose her thoughts. He didn't expect anything, he had no reason to. So all she had to do was answer his question honestly. It would be ok. "Kai? No, of course not! I mean, he's..." struggling to find the words to describe him without being nasty, she laughed again "No, we're not together. Kai is just a houseguest, albeit an ungrateful and slightly terrifying one."
Suddenly realising what she had said, Seema bit her lip and winced "I'm sorry, forget I ever said that, it's nothing" she mumbled quietly, going bright red. "He's no bother really, honestly, don't worry about it." She tightened her scarf a little, her indiscretion could be forgiven, but if Kiryu were to see the bruising she knew that there would be more questions.
Time to change the subject again. But subtly... "Besides, if there was anything between Kai and me do you really think I'd be here with you?" she smiled, a warm smile with a little hint of mischeif to it.

The agonizing wait had paid off, replaced with a feeling of elation. Pulled from the waters edge, his feet finally on solid ground. A wide smile spread across his muzzle and a fire lit behind his eyes. He watched Seema intently, awaiting her explanation.
He could believe that Kai would be ungrateful, unable to appreciate the good deed Seema had performed by allowing him to stay in her home. Whilst Kai's nature disgusted him, it was the next word that triggered alarm bells.
Terrifying, mulling it around in his mind, her reparations rang false,. You care for her, shes far too good for you! He distracted himself momentarily, catching only the remainder of her sentence.
"I don't think he would want you to" he laughed undecidedly. "But you probably wouldn't have been able to help yourself" he said, acknowledging her red cheeks with a subtle wink.

She laughed a little, still slightly nervous - the potential consequences of her mention of Kurai were yet to be determined, and they concerned her more than a little. But there was nothing to be done about that now.
Kiryu's little joke about her being unable to resist visiting gave her a little giggle, but there was a slight tinge of truth in it too. "We're not together, don't worry. I'll probably have hell to deal with when I get back, he can be very grumpy. But it's worth the risk" she grinned, looking up at him. "At least, I hope it will be." she winked.
She shuffled in a little closer to Kiryu, the cold beginning to bite at her. She hoped he wouldn't think she was being too forward, but it really was cold and he was so warm... Not that there wasn't a slight ulterior motive, of course. They were almost touching now, his warmth taking the edge off of the wind's chill.

Hearing her giggle widened his smile, the lighthearted tone was a perfect end to what had been a fantastic day. "I can assure you of that" he replied, looking down at her. "Better make it worth the lodgers anguish" he added, lightening the tone of the conversation.
Seema had inched closer to him, causing his wing to drop from her shoulder, tickling her back on the way down. Swiftly he arced it towards her, lifting her from her feet and into his embrace. His cheeks began flushing red, hoping the time they had spent was worth having hell to pay for.
To hell and back again, huh.

The sudden lift caught Seema by surprised and she squealed with laughter, her scarf slackening off and her satchel falling to the ground beside her. But at that particular moment she was too happy to notice or worry - this memory would be stored in her mind for the next time things felt particularly difficult to deal with.
Finding her feet as Kiryu embraced her, she let out a deep, contented sigh. "Thank you for today" she said softly, pulling away from him slightly to look up at his face. The unexpected acrobatics had left Seema looking tousled to say the least - her cheeks were red and shining, her fur was mussed and she was breathless, but most noticeably of all, her scarf was twisted, its triangular point sitting across her left shoulder rather than in the centre of her chest. The mottled blue and green of bruises shone clearly through the silvery fur, making a ring around her now exposed neck.

It may have been late and cold, but at that moment, Kiryu had never been happier. "It was nothing" he smiled, looking at her. "Sorry" he added, brushing down some of the tousled fur behind her ears.
The smile faded as he noticed the extensive bruising around her neck. "I didn't hurt you did I?" The concern prominent in his voice. "Let me take a look" he asked worried. Upon closer inspection the bruising was healing, deep blues interspersed with pale yellow patches.
"Are you allright, what happened?" Kiryu was gazing directly into her eyes, the fire in his own dimming.

Seema's face fell and a series of expletives ran through her head. "No of course you didn't hurt me, those have been there a few days now." she reassured him quickly, reaching up and retying her scarf.
Seema knew there was no time to think up an excuse, so she chose her words carefully. "Kai just had a bit of a bad moment is all, it's nothing I can't handle and it won't happen again." Her tone was firm, confident and controlled - she hoped this would give Kiryu the message she wanted it to, which was that she could deal with it herself. Kurai was dangerous and she definitely didn't want Kiryu getting mixed up in all this. I can't risk anything happening to him...
Almost as quickly as her expression had fallen, her smile was back. "But let's not let it ruin our evening, eh?" she said with a bright smile, brushing a stray lock of Kiryu's hair out of his eyes.
