As Kai began to come to, he jolted his leg, making it difficult for Hiruko to continue healing the wound.
"Sorry about the wet fur," Hiruko apologised politely. "I did ask Kiryu to flick a bit of water over you but he seemed to mistake a bit for a lot."
After he finished with the paste, he covered up the rest and placed it back into storage. "I hope you are feeling a little better." As Kai was slowly evaluating where he was, a strange and suspicious grin emerged across his face showing many jagged teeth. It was a cunning grin he knew all too well with his old enemy...You cannot judge everyone as bad just because they share traits with Koatia... Despite trying to budge this thought out of his mind, Hiruko suddenly felt veryuncomfortable having Kai in his home.

Looking over Kiryu watched as Kai regained consciousness. "A little didn't work" he retorted. He turned back to Seema, smiling at her widely. "See he's gonna be just fine". He felt a little embarrassed talking to her, his grin growing a little wider.
He turned his attention towards Kai, who seemed to be in pain before proclaiming loudly. "Do we have anything that will ease his pain, without knocking him out?". He flashed a grin at Seema, wondering if it would be so bad if he was out of it for just a little while longer. He knew that Seema wouldn't like that, as if it tarnished their opinion of her.
"How ya feeling?" he asked, nodding in Kai's direction. "How far from home are you?"

"I only carry paralox as far as pain relief is concerned, and to be honest, given how poorly his constitution handled that I wouldn't want to give him any of our treatments even if I had them" she shrugged, a little grin playing around the corner of her lips as she poked a little fun at Kurai's expense. The wolf had little influence on his constitution, but it was still fun. She looked up at Kiryu, whose already big smile just kept growing and growing. It seemed strange he should smile so - what was causing it?

"I've felt better, let's put it that way." Kurai groaned truthfully, covering his eyes with a paw, relieved that Hiruko was now finished. No one would touch him again, not if he could help it. He knew that appearing to befriend the other inhabitants of the Tialkan world was essential, but allowing someone to get that close was pushing it. He peeked through a gap between his digits at Kiryu. He did not know the fox at all, but he had helped carry him all the way from the falls to Hiruko's den. He did not understand. Why would someone do something like that if they did not have anything to gain from it?
"Thank you, I mean it," he said in a serious tone, looking at Kiryu, then Hiruko. He ignored Seema, who seemed to be enjoying mocking him. His body would not have been so weak had it not been for Seirei. A life in banishment for three whole years, unwelcomed by anyone who knew his name. Seema knew nothing. She would pay later for her free tongue, once he was strong enough.
"As for my home ... well, to put it simply I've never felt as welcome there as I have felt here today." Kurai lowered his paw again. There must have been some active ingredient in the paste that was helping to sooth the pain a little. He sighed, and looked around him at Hiruko's den. "Where abouts are we? Last thing I remember was the sound of crashing water, but this place seems different."

"This is my den," Hiruko replied to Kai's question. He was smiling as he couldn't help but noticed a connection between Seema and Kiryu. "I like to be close to many of the other residents and I have a deep connection with the earth, therefore I live in the forest. It's safe, it's warm and it makes me feel comfortable." Not that Kai would be that interested in why he lived there.
"Does anyone want a drink?" Hiruko offered. "Sorry I didn't ask before, I rarely seem to have guests these days. Everyone is generally busy with their own lives. I have water, tea or fresh juice."

Something about Kurai's behaviour was ringing alarm bells in Seema's mind today. She knew that he was playing a part for the sake of the plan, but there was something else. Perhaps mocking him had been the wrong decision, but she found her trust in him somewhat wavering. But that was not something she could afford to be questioning at this point - what if Hiruko or Kiryu wondered what was wrong? For now all she could do was carry on and see what her heart told her to do when the time to live up to her side of the bargain came along.
Seema looked up at Hiruko "Some juice would be really nice if you have enough to spare, Hiruko" she smiled gratefully "There's never anything but tea to spare at my sister's and I can't stand the stuff!" she chuckled a little. "But I suppose with so many of us in the den, you can hardly blame Seirei for not going out and getting everything to suit everyone!"

Kiryu was watching Kai, "Your Welcome" he replied, looking directly at the wolf. Finding it difficult to perceive his intent, he turned his attention towards Seema and Hiruko.
"It's quite far from where I live!" he protested to Hiruko mockingly, stifling a smile, "Next time live closer!"
While listening to Seema, he realised she was staying with Seirei, another one of his 'fans', he sighed a little before focusing on Hiruko, "Some water will be fine, there such surplus at the falls that by now I'm used to it".

Seema sat back as Kiryu spoke. "Does it not get awfully lonely up in the falls? I mean, it's so difficult to get up there that you must get very few visitors..." She blushed. "I'm sorry, that probably didn't sound very sympathetic. I just meant... well to be honest I don't know what I meant...." she was tripping over her words, and suddenly dropped her gaze, embarassed by herself. What was she doing? This was not the way to make friends - and friends was something she was desperately short of.

Hiruko prepared some fresh juice from the fruits that grew around his house. It was so convienient living in this location.
"I chose to live here before you did," Hiruko chuckled. "You were the one who chose to live so far away." He smiled, something that he didn't do often when Seema was around as he was too busy analysing her motives. His trust in her was becoming stronger again and he thought that it was about time to let go of his fear of her. She seemed so much different now, so much like her sister.
Worried that he was staring, Hiruko brought the glass of juice over to her. "No need to apologise over a few stutters Seema," Hiruko said, smiling sweetly as her placed the juice before her. "I'm sure Kiryu understands what you mean. Besides, I'm sure he can take a few mean jokes, having given some out instead." He winked at Kiryu as a form of friendship.

Seema smiled, a little embarassed, and took the juice from Hiruko. There was something different about his behaviour today - she hoped it was a good thing. "Thank you, Hiruko. But I genuinely didn't intend it to sound mean, i was just curious!" she protested, despite knowing she was in a hole and should probably stop digging. Her face flushed a little red.

Kiryu looked over to Seema, "It is lonely" he confirmed, "but there is something magical about Isel Falls, the freedom, the sound of the waterfall" he said pausing. "There is so much to explore!" His mind wandered for a minute, thinking back on the original statement, "all 3 of your managed to visit today" he answered.
He suddenly remembered himself, tilting his head in Kai's direction, "you could have stayed longer.... if princess over there not tripped and hurt himself." He smiled towards Kai, who must have been tired from the journey.
"Your more than welcome to visit again, if the experience hasn't put you off the falls." he looked over towards Seema, smiling a little. "I wouldn't worry about offending me, far from it" he said quietly"

Seema smiled "I might just do that, it's really a beautiful place" she said softly, attempting to fight a blush. "i must admit exploring is something I haven't done much since arriving in Tialka, but I definitely intend to now Tersias is home. "And I'm sure he'll be ok - he couldn't help that he fell."

"It's a nice place," Kurai responded to Hiruko with a smile. The forest, eh? he thought, curiously, And close to whom I wonder? Only one way to find out, but for now, gotta let this leg heal up. "I don't suppose ... it would be too much to ask if I could stay here for a short while, Hiruko? Until I'm better, that is. It's just I don't yet have a place of my own, and I could use the company. Besides, with your skills I could recouperate much faster and be out of your way. What do you think?"
While he was sorting out arrangements with Hiruko, Kurai overheard Kiryu and Seema's conversation. He frowned in a grumpy sort of pout when Kiryu made him seem effeminate, Seema yet again not defending her partner. He was seriously questioning her loyalty, but at the same time, in such a confined social situation, he could hardly berate her about it. It would have to wait for another time. Hopefully she had taken his advice and already begun toying with her sister's thoughts.

Seema, overhearing Kurai, suddenly felt a pang of guilt. She had been the only person in Tialka he had confided in and trusted, and yet here she was allowing him to have to depend on others when he was injured and vulnerable. Turning away from her conversation with Kiryu, she cleared her throat a little. "I don't mean to interrupt, Kai, Hiruko, but I am in the process of moving into a small house very nearby... It's still a work in progress, and it's very empty, but with Hiruko and Mira's help the basics are in place. There isn't much there at all, but there's space, and peace, and that way the cubs can keep their peace and their routine?" Seema knew the offer wasn't much, and the house really was rudimentary, but the peace and the space would be just what Kurai needed to recover. She smiled in a friendly way, hoping Hiruko and Kiryu wouldn't suspect she had other motives. [[OOC - I am aware that the thread in which the house is built, "Stepping Out Alone", is not complete. Apologies to Hiruko for jumping the gun a little on this - but the thread is pretty much ready for you to step in if you can, and if not I'm quite happy to take it as read if everyone else is Sorry if this takes anyone by surprise.]]

((OOC - Fine with me )) Kurai sat up a little, interested in Seema's proposal. It would be greatly beneficial if he could stay with someone who he did not have to pretend around. He had managed it so far, but it would be extremely difficult to keep it up day and night, especially around Hiruko's family. He did not want to appear too eager, but it was a good idea. About time you contributed, Seema,he thought. He smiled, putting on a look of happy surprise. "Well, that's very good of you, miss! It was wrong of me, I suppose, to ask so much of a busy family. Not that my stay has been unpleasant, Hiruko." He smiled at the tiger too. He had sat up for too long. He felt a twinge of pain and flopped back down onto the pillow, grimacing.

She smiled. "That's settled then. Give me a few minutes to see what I can do about some pain relief for you and then we'll think about getting you moved across." She smiled at Kai, a knowing smile which (she hoped) conveyed a message to him that he could depend on her. That, after all, was something she had no objections to Hiruko or Kiryu knowing - Seema's loyalty was one thing she was fiercely proud of.
Opening her bag, she took out the bottle of Paralox and looked at it thoughtfully. Fishing out an empty flask from elsewhere in the bag, she poured in a splash of Paralox, then sealed the bottle back up and put it away. Picking up the flask, she then smiled at the others. "I'll be right back" she said over her shoulder to the others as she left the house quickly.
Wandering into the forest, she hunted around for a small while. What she needed was a little water, to weaken down the Paralox, and a little stimulant, to water down the sedative effects. She quickly tracked down a stream and splashed a little water into the flask, then began looking around for a stimulant. This was the more difficult bit, but after a few minutes she found what she was looking for - a thick moss with small pink blossoms. Wanting to check she had discovered the right thing, she pulled off a blossom and bit into it. Her features flickered as a buzz of energy flooded into her mouth. Yup, that was the one.
While using too much of the stimulant could be a risk, it would at least help Kai move a bit more independantly. So Seema grabbed a generous handful of the flower heads, crushing them and adding them to the flask, which she shook rapidly, then added more water to.
Returning to Hiruko's house, she handed Kai the flask. "Try drinking this" she smiled, "But just a very little at a time, I don't know how much I will have managed to weaken it"

Kurai was a little hesitant about drinking another of Seema's concoctions. His previous experience had not been enjoyable.
"What will it do ... exactly?" he asked warily. He was all for moving into Seema's new home, but he would rather know how his body would be affected before he tried putting any weight onto his damaged leg. He had already sworn that he would not put himself in that vulnerable position again. It was too risky to be unable to control his mind and body.

Kiryu watched the exchange between Kai and Seema, perhaps she likes him he thought, hanging his head a little dejectedly. After all they are moving in together , he sighed quietly. He stood up, banishing the thoughts from the back of his mind, pacing towards Kai.
"I think the little lady has learned from her mistakes, she isn't the sort to make the same one twice" he confirmed emphasizing the word isn't, while glancing a look at Seema.
"If I am no longer needed, I can take my leave" he looked over at Kai. "Unless I am needed to ferry Kai to his new home?" he observed, a pang of jealousy in his tone. He didn't want to leave, but with the current trend of conversation, he felt he had overstayed his welcome.
