Mira's stone, which still lay on the podium, glowed brighter than the rest. "How could this be happening?" she wondered aloud, peering at it.

"I'm not sure..." Hiruko mumbled.
He took the crystal from around his neck and placed it into the slot where it belonged. It clinked softly when it touched the stone and continued to glow as it had done previously. For a moment, there was an eerie silence as they all stood there, the crystals glowing vibrantly into the night sky. Suddenly, there was a slight rumble from beneath them, as if the ground below them had shifted. As suddenly as the movement had come, it stopped.
Hiruko scrunched up his nose and forehead in thought. He looked at Mira and Seirei for hope of what just happened or what to do next. Then his eyes, rested on the crystal hung around Seirei's neck that was also glowing a sapphire blue.
"Seirei, would you mind placing your crystal into its slot?" he asked inquisitively.

Seirei was taken aback slightly by the small quake, but did as Hiruko suggested and nibbled the necklace holding his crystal until it broke away and then carefully placed it into its individual slot.
Suddenly, like a thunderclap, the ground gave an almighty crack and the stone table that had stood still for eons slowly started to lower itself into the ground.
'Ermm.. I dunno about you guys... but I'm starting to freak out a leeetle bit...' He looked back at the former table and saw that it had passed under the ground to one side to reveal a crumbling staircase leading into the darkness.

Mira peered into the tunnel. "Curioser and curioser," she murmured, stepping forward, Gently, she placed a paw on the first step. A few clods of dirt rolled away, but the step stayed firm.
"We should still remain cautious," she advised, gesturing to the stairs. Slowly, she began to lead the way down, putting a small amount of pressure onto each step to check its stability before continuing.

Protective of Mira, Hiruko quickly took to standing right behind her in case there was any danger. The deeper they went, the darker it got. Fortunately, Hiruko had secured his crystal around his neck after the opening had revealed itself and the constant glowing was the only thing that lit their way once they had gotten deep enough for the opening light to become faint and useless.
"Isn't this exciting?" Hiruko smiled slightly (though he was unsure whether any of them could see it in the faint green light). "Hiruko, Seirei and Mira, once again on another adventure." He laughed to himself and continued to walk down the step. The steps opened up into a huge underground room that was so tall, it was difficult to see to the bottom. The steps spiralled constantly downwards. The amazing thing about the hall of steps was the bright sapphire and ocean blue crystals sticking out from the earthy walls, emitting a lovely glow of blue all around the room. There was also a giant, blue crystal column reaching from the top to the bottom of the underground hall and it was intwined with many roots and vines that spiralled all the way to the bottom. It was truly magnificent.
"Well," he said with a small sigh. "Better get walking."

Significantly larger than his other, sleeker friends, Seirei made up the end of the little excavation team, folding in his wings as tightly as he could, so as not to damage the delicate passageway leading down from the clearing above or knock the beautifully gilded walls.
He felt as if he wasn't allowed to speak in such a magnificent place ... almost holy. It looked as if the staircase would take them at least half an hour to reach whatever was waiting for them at the bottom.

Mira, still in the lead, took a deep breath and continued down the staircase. The blue glow shimmered slightly off her sleek fur, which had been shedding since winter had long gone. Her eyes kept glancing back to the giant tower of crystal, wondering how big it was. Only one way to find out, she thought, bringing her eyes back to where she was walking.

They all walked for what seemed like forever and they were all silent, no one spoke as there was nothing to say amongst their expression of awe at the scenery. There was something mysterious and magical about the surroundings that Hiruko couldn't quite explain. It was like the birth of time and space itself.
After what felt like an hour or so, they finally reached the bottom of the hallway. All that was at the bottom was the end of the crystal column and an archway to another corridor. The corridor wasn't straight but winded in different directions. It was very short and after a while, it opened out into a fairly large room compacted with smaller crystal columns. Roots and vines were weaving themselves from the soil above and around the crystal columns. The crystals here were extremely vibrant.
"Wow!" Hiruko said in awe. "We must be very deep below the earth!" He felt very comforted by the surroundings of the earth, perhaps because of his affinity with the element. He took a walk around the pillars, the room was filled with lots of them.
"This is the end of the road," Hiruko said. "There are no other rooms."

Seirei had great dificulty squeezing through the windy corridor but finally made his way into the final chamber, shielding his eyes a little with his left wing. As he made his way closer to the others to inspect the shining columns for himself, he accidentally brushed one of them with his tail. Instantly the columns shone even brighter, emitting a shrill whistling noise. He had to shout to make himself heard over the din.
'Argh! Hiruko.. Mira..! What's going on?'

Mira's ears flattened against her head and her hackles rose at the sudden sound. She squinted against the light. "Seirei! What did you do?" she yelled over the noise with curiosity, not accusingly.

The noise was piercing and soon the glowing revealed the shadowed silhouette of something within one of the crystal column. "Mira, Seirei, come look at this!" he shouted through the noise. Then suddenly the noise stopped but the bright glowing of the crystals continued.
"It looks like something is trapped within the crystals!"

'I don't know!' Seirei called back. Grateful at the sudden silence, Seirei's temples had been throbbing, he made his way over to where Hiruko was and peered into the column.
'I think i can see a silhouette of a tail ... or is it a plant? I can't tell. What do you think?'

Mira stood between Hiruko and Seirei. "Whatever it is..." she said, "it's moving."
As she spoke, the silhouette inside of the column was indeed twitching. She still couldn't tell what it was, but its shape held more definition now.

Sure enough, the silhouette within the crystal was moving.
"It's...it's a creature of some sort," Hiruko said matter-of-factly. The creature was curled into a ball. Hiruko placed his paw on the crystal and closed his eyes. In a matter of seconds, the crystal burst and shattered into thousands of pieces. Thankfully, Seirei's large wings covered their eyes and bodies from the blast and the pieces fell to the floor with a soft tinkle. When Seirei's wings lowered, Hiruko stared to where the crystal column had previously been but all that was left was a small creature with large ears and a long tail. It had short, light turquoise coloured fur and it was floating above the ground, exactly where it had been trapped in the crystal. It's eyes were closed and it didn't appear to be doing anything but floating above the ground.
"A-are you okay?" Hiruko said calmly. The creature's eyes opened and focused its gaze on the three of them.
"Who are you?" the creature said loudly. It's mouth wasn't moving but the voice was loud and clear. "Why did you come here? You have disturbed my hibernation!"

Seirei's hackles went up at the strange creature just hovering there in front of them in the air. It didn't seem to be something that could harm them, it was so delicate and .. and so cute, with it's big ears and tiny frame.
He stared at Hiruko, puzzled, for although the little creature wasn't moving it's mouth at all, he could hear a powerful voice booming around them. He felt slightly intimidated so let Hiruko continue with his attempts at communication, for he seemed to know the right approach.

"I am Hiruko." He said calmly though a little intimidated, even if the creature was small and fragile. "And this is Seirei and Mira. We founded this world, we have brought it full of life and peace." "You did not found this world!" the creature shouted. "I did. This world is a vessel for the Kumorishi, and you have come to steal it, haven't you?" <<By the way Seirei, everyone can hear Mylar ^^ Just to let you know, so you can join in the conversation >>

((OOC - Ok, i've modified my post so I heard him))
Seirei stepped closer to the nameless creature, the movement sparked by his curiousity at what it just said. 'But, that can't possibly be true. When we came to this land it was nothing but a lifeless rock! Who are you exactly? And what on earth are you on about? A vessel?'
He looked inquiringly at Hiruko, as if he may have some answers, but it was most likely that he knew as little as all three of them at that point.

Mira stepped forward, looking at the turquoise creature. "I think we should allow our new acquiantance to explain," she said softly. "I've caught glimpses of your meaning since you contacted my mind, but I am yet to fully understand."
