It had been so long since Hiruko could remember such a chaos-filled world. His life had been peaceful, surrounded by his friends and his wonderful mate, Mira, the snow leopard of ice and water. Koatia had long disappeared and Hiruko wondered if his reign of terror had finally been dispelled from the land.
No Hiruko thought. Koatia may have disappeared, but he is not dead
Hiruko knew that Koatia would never be completely destroyed but his lack of presence for many countless months made Hiruko wonder if they would ever be disrupted by him again. That was something he could not be sure about.
Thinking about Koatia's whereabouts reminded Hiruko of Hayashi. He hadn't seen his brother for almost as long as his sworn enemy. Although Hayashi had proven disloyal and a rival to Hiruko, he still worried about him and wondered if he could ever be the older brother he once knew.
Gazing into the night sky that Seirei had painted so beautifully, Hiruko breathed a calm sigh. He was sitting upon a branch of his favourite tree where he could see all of his surroundings so clearly. The night was so peaceful and silent.
And yet, Hiruko could feel something calling him. A voice...no. It was voiceless and yet it was still calling him. A sign perhaps? Whatever it was, Hiruko could feel it inside him but he chose to ignore it.
Whatever it is, Hiruko thought. If it is urgent, time will reveal its signal.
And with that, Hiruko folded his arms, closed his eyes and became ignorant of the ever-stronger signal that was calling his presence.

Seirei's magnificent blue form could just be seen drifting with the wind through the night sky. Time had passed quickly; the pups were now a handful as they continued to grow and need more attention from their already tired parents. Feeling slightly guilty over slipping out and leaving his mate at the den with the lot of them, Seirei's eyes scoured the usual route he took when needing a break, watched the breeze rustle through the sleeping trees and the rivers lying still as glass, reflecting his twinkling creations above. The night was picturesque no mistake.
After a lengthy while he spotted the familiar form of his friend Hiruko, in his usual spot, and gracefully landed, his wings rustling the grass gently.
'Haven't seen you in a long while, Hiruko!' he called as he approached the tiger closer and closer. 'Then again, I haven't seen anyone apart from my family these past months. They've taken up all the time I have ...' he sighed a little then thought again, 'But! I'm not complaining, hehehe ...'
He stopped mid-ramble to see Hiruko's fazed out expression, it looked like he hadn't heard a word. Seirei spoke up a little, 'What's on your mind, friend?'

Mira roamed the land dreamily, a smile on her face. She and Hiruko had been officially mated in the winter, the same day as the winter solstice, which made it ever more special. It had been a wonderful event, with almost everyone in attendance - even the cubs (who, for once, had obeyed themselves).
She passed Skalakruh and headed towards Lacina Forest, the border of which lay nearby. On one of the trees close to the edge, she could see her love Hiruko and their best friend Seirei. Her smile growing, she quickened her pace. It wasn't long until she reached the tree, and she deftly climbed up it as all felines could.
"Hello," she said in her soft, silvery voice. She nuzzled up to Hiruko, sitting on the opposite side of him to Seirei.

Seirei and Mira's arrival completely disrupted Hiruko from his little thoughts which was definately helpful for him. As he stared at them both, he realised how much they meant to him.
"It's been so long, my friends,' Hiruko said embracing him in a 3-way hug. Mira's soft cheek fur brushed across his face whilst Seirei's wing feathers swept gently across his back. Their familiar scents were enlightening for him.
"It's such a lovely night," he said calmly. "But I can't help thinking about what is out there...why is it so silent?"

Seirei's great bushy tail swished side to side happily as they embraced; nothing could beat true friendship with a bond this strong.
He tilted his head to one side as he listened to Hiruko's spoken thoughts. 'Now that you mention it ... I don't really know how to explain it ... but what with the weather being so fine recently I've been flying a lot, and I don't know ... it feels as if someone's there with me sometimes. Sometimes I think I see a glimpse of a little tail or paw or something out of the corner of my eye. But it's silly' he shook his head, 'If someone was new to our world I would have felt it for sure.'

After Seirei's words, Hiruko thought for a second.
"So..." Hiruko thought. "I'm not the only one who has experienced some strange things happening lately..."
His voice trailed off to nothing. It was so strange that his peaceful home could hold such mysterious things. Closing his eyes, he squinted with a strained expression. He could see a blurred vision, obsure to his recollection. He could see a lot of blue and something was glowing from within the blue.
He opened his eyes to see that the only blue was that of Seirei's fur and the matching night sky.
"What is that?" Hiruko said. "I see...a vision. Like someone is responding to me."

Mira's eyes were half-closed, her dreaminess returning once more. She had been like this for a few days. "It is calling," she whispered softly. She couldn't see what Hiruko was talking about, nor had she seen glimpses like Seirei had, but she could hear it. She had been for a while.
Mira turned to Hiruko and Seirei, her ice blue eyes glazed over. "It has been waiting."

"But what does it mean?" Hiruko said. "I don't even know what 'it' is."
He was becoming increasingly frustrated since the past few months were filled with peace and simplicity. The stars were twinkling delicately in the sky and this brought a wave of hope for Hiruko.
Together, we can do this he thought. There is nothing we have never been able to conquer.
"Do you think the others will return?" he asked longingly. "The rest of the tribe I mean, I haven't spoken with them in so long..."

Mira blinked, her eyes losing some of the glaze. She smiled at her mate. "They will always return to us, you know that." She looked to the distance. "No matter how far you go, you shall always be a part of Tialka, and in your heart you know you belong here, and that you will always return,"

Seirei settled himself into a comfortable position on the grass, tucking his paws underneath him and folded his wings neatly against his back. He always found it difficult to deduce what was happening when the two 'psychics', as he jokingly called them in his head, had these mysterious visions. He could only rely on his sense of smell and what his eyes thought they saw. It was all very confusing, but he felt that whatever it was, if it was there to harm their home, it would have made its presence known by now.
He continued his thoughts out loud, 'You know ... what if it was a shy being that was just being curious? There are some members of our tribe we know very little about, their origins I mean. So it wouldn't surprise me if we had an unexpected visitor from time to time.'

"No," replied Mira in the same dreamy voice. "Not a visitor. It has been here for a long time. It has been waiting."
How strange, thought a part of Mira. What am I talking about? It's like I know, but... the information has been blocked from me.

"I don't know," Hiruko replied, confused. It was as if he could only half understand what he was trying to find out.
Suddenly, his crystal begin glowing. "What?" he muttered softly, holding the crystal that was strung around his neck. Hiruko stared at the other two, confused.
"What is happening?"

Mira's glassy eyes looked down at the crystal, the light emnating from it reflecting in patterns. She reached out to touch it, and the crystal shivered at her touch, as it always did whenever a non-owner touched it. "Like a game," she said, moving it around and watching it get slightly brighter or dimmer. She looked towards Skalakruh, pointed the crystal there, and saw the crystal glow brighter.

Seirei suddenly raised his eyebrows in shock as his crystal, too, began to glow so brightly he had to squint through the light emitting from the oddly behaving rock secured around his neck. He felt a shiver trickle down his spine.
'I don't like this... Our crystals are what tie us to this world, so if they are reacting as strongly as this, there is a deep power at work here.' He stood up and stomped his front right paw on the ground with frustration. 'But I can't tell if it's good or something to worry about...At any rate it wants us to go somewhere and no mistake.' He nodded in the direction that Mira was pointing.

"Lets hurry to the stone circle!" Hiruko exclaimed. He leapt down from the branch of the tree and landed with his knees bent to the earth and one paw taking the aftershock. He looked up to the others, awaiting for them to follow and then sped quickly toward Skalakruh which wasn't too far away from the forest.

Mira leaped after him, landing gracefully on all four paws, and followed Hiruko. As they sped to Skalakruh, her mind cleared, and her eyes became less glassy. She blinked, only slightly confused. I wonder where we're heading to?

It felt so good to run again. Hiruko's paws leapt gracefully through the tall grass until the grassy woodland thinned and an area of hills and stone appeared. A wide, unusual structure glistened in moolight and cast long black blocks of shadow across the grass. It was Skalakruh, the stone circle where their crystals were usually kept. Hiruko had kept his around his neck just for safe keeping and also because he liked his element to be kept close by him. Usually however, the crystals were kept at the stone circle. Even from a distance, the crystals that had been left there were glowing unnaturally in their slots.
"They're all the same..." Hiruko said to the others. "But at least if they are glowing like this, it can't mean something bad will happen surely? The crystals have never glowed when danger is approaching."

Seirei took a short sprint and launched himself into the air after the two felines who were dashing into the distance. With a few short beats of his enormous wings he reached the destination of the ancient stone circle and landed scruffily just outside the ring of stone. He quickly trotted over to the table to indeed see the other crystals behaving the same as his own.
