"Both me and my big sister, Shiro fought hard and killed many of them, but every time we killed one there were three to take it's place. In the end that's what killed us, their overwhelming numbers. My mother and father were killed right in front of us. I still remember holding my mother's still body, crying out for her." Tears started falling from his eyes. "I was only six back then, just turned. I fled with Shiro and hid until they left. She had gone crazy. She wanted revenge. I couldn't let her, so I had to tie her up so she wouldn't kill herself. We stayed out of sight for three weeks while they searched for survivors. We were not found though life was tough then. We survived on small wildlife some streamwater and hope."

"Then what happened?" she asked, genuinely intrigued. She had her whole head peering out of the shrub now, and for once her face wasn't filled with anger or suspicion. She was enthralled by the story.

"After they had left we returned to the village. My mother and father as well as everyone I once knew and cared about hung from nooses, their flesh cut from their bodies. I had to leave almost immediatly, but I grabbed my sister's and my own katana's and fled to another world after we buried them. She left, wanting to find those and kill them all. I didn't follow, instead I wandered about trying to help anyone I saw. So I was alone for the longest time. I grew on the road, from the child to what I am today. I was cold to anybody I didn't know, though I quickly grew out of that. I found this planet after a while and started living here. Any other planets will have to be a different story."

Nat didn't realise, but her tail was gently swaying. She had enjoyed the story, depressing as it was.
"Wow," she said quietly. "You've had a hard life."

"And yet look at me now. I thought I had killed my sister on the last planet. Fell off a cliff."

"Ouch," she said, wincing. She paused, looking thoughtful. "I never had a mother. She died giving birth to me. I have seven brothers, though..."
She thought of them all, bringing a sad smile to her face.

"What happened to them?" He asked, glad to get her talking.

She shrugged. "We were all raised by my father, who knew nothing of raising girls. In the end, we all got enlisted into the Tribe's army. Got into a fight with a superior one day, and got kicked out. Don't ask about the reason for the fight."
She stretched her forelegs out in front of her. "For all I know, they could be dead, fighting in the war." She shrugged again. "I honestly have no idea."

"It's hot out here. Let me make some shade if you don't mind." he raised one paw and the sand moved up and around forming a dome over their heads. He puched up into the air and it shrank, contracting together so it would hold. "Much better, And in case you are wondering, no I am not an elemental like youself. I have a very slight control over elements, allowing me to do such things. You should really see Seirei's house, one of my finest works."

She blinked, and sputtered. "You know I'm an elemental?" she gasped. In her alarm, her powers manifested slightly, giving her paws a frame of fire. Quickly, she put them out.
"How? How did you know?" she asked, wide-eyed.
[[gah... mum's kicking me off. late, and she needs to check her email ¬.¬... grr. anyway, see y'all whenever!]]

"It was a simple matter. You fell from the sky on fire, and yet you are herdly burned. You were not going fast enough to burn yourself, yet you were on fire when you fell. At those speeds, it would be impossible to catch fire from the friction of the air. This led me to believe that you are an elemental and you just proved it by your little show."
(It's ok. I'll see ya later!)

Nat hung her head, feeling ashamed. "Where I come from, magic is seen as a form of evil. I kept it secret from everyone, I didn't want them to kill me. I was only young." She remembered the night when her powers revealed themselevs to her.
She was only seven, but she was home alone, because her father and brothers had gone somewhere, and she wasn't allowed to go. It had gotten quite late, and Nat was scared of the dark back then, unless she had family.
Panicking more and more, her powers started to manifest, and she screamed when her paws came alight. When she realised it wasn't hurting, she knew she was the source of it. She screamed again, saying over and over "I don't want to die!"
Crying, she succeeded in putting the flames out, and went to sleep. She never told anyone, not even her closest brother and friend, Enh.

"Well you don't have to worry about that here. You're just another part of our weird family here in Tialka." he smiled at her. "After all, everyone is different so to not accept you because of your ability is not right."

She sighed. "I guess..." she muttered. She crawled out of the shrub, and picked a few berries off with her teeth before eating them.
"If you're hungry, have some," she said, indicating the berries. "They're safe to eat, and they grow back really quickly."

"Thanks, though I prefer prepared food, oh that reminds me. I brought you this." He handed a small box over to her, it was wrapped in a cloth. "Open it and tell me what you think, I made it myself." He smiled and ate a couple of the berries she indicated.

She looked at the box curiously, but didn't touch it yet. "What's in it?" she asked, a little suspiciously.

"Food, didn't I tell you that I made it myself?" He asked. He then reached over and untid the top for her. He lifted the lid to reveal a variety of sweets and some of my stew in a sealed bowl, still hot. "Would you like to try my stew? It's really good."

She paused, looking at the food. "Um... maybe later," she said. "Those berries are very hunger satiating."
Carefully, she retied the cloth, and stored it under her shrub. "Thank you, though." She smiled a little.
