"Very well."

Dingoes have large ears, and therefore can hear slightly more than an average canine. As it was, she heard some of the conversation between Mira and Kiba. She kapt her stance tall, pretending she'd heard nothing.
Mira was right. Deep down, Nat was very shy and caring. However, that was very very deep down. It would take them years to dig it out.

Two days later Kiba came around looking for their newest member. "Nat! Nat! Where are you?" He called out. The dingo couldn't have gone far, the water source is right here.

"Jeez, I'm right here, you don't have to yell," muttered Nat, coming up beside Kiba. "What do you want?" She looked up at him with stormy eyes.
'Can't anyone leave a girl alone?' she wondered to herself, half reluctantly. After all, she did like company, it just took her a while to make friends.

"I just wanted to see if you were alright. It has been a while and I thought you might want some company. If you don't that's fine, just wondering is all... Nice to see you don't view me as a threat anymore."

"Yeah, yeah, whatever," she muttered, a little angrily. "I'm fine, so I'm going back now. See yah."
She went back over to the Otacon Oasis, where she had made her home.

Kiba followed, but kept his distance, he didn't want to push her too far. Just making friends and she is a nice person, but like Mira said, she is hard on the outside.

Nat rolled her eyes when she realised she could hear paws on sand. 'He just doesn't give up, does he?' she thought. However, she just let him follow, wondering how long it would take for him to succumb to the desert.
After about an hour's walk, Nat reached the oasis. It was midday, so the desert was at its hottest, though Nat didn't mind. Stretching her legs, she lay down at the bank of the oasis, and took a few laps of the mysteriously cool water.

"Nice place to see in the twilight isn't it?" He said, tring to start a conversation.

"It's midday," she said dryly, stretching where she lay. She closed her eyes, relishing the warm feeling on her back.
The small oasis was very pretty. There was a thick shrub, that bore hunger-satiating purple fruits, and Nat used this shrub to find shade if the glare of the sun got too much for her grey eyes.

"I am not talking about now. I am talking about the past and the future. You know, you can be a real downer sometimes."

"It's called realistic," supplied Nat, not opening her eyes. "I don't take the time to appreciate beauty. Appreciating beauty got you killed in battles."
She rolled over, legs in the air, sunning her stomach instead of her back. Her ears dipped slightly into the cool water.

"But we are not in battle right now are we?"

"Well it's not my fault I've been brought up that way," she said hotly, standing up. "And I'd appreciate it if you left me to my own devices."
She turned away from him, and situated herself under the purple berried shrub. The shade almost hid her red fur, though her dark eyes seemed to disappear without the sun.

"Well, never mind then. I do apologise if I offended you in any way, you don't talk about yourself and others don't know what will set you off. If it makes it easier i will tell you about myself."

Nat looked at Kiba oddly. "If you want," she said loftily.

"I was born about sixteen human years ago in a small town on a different world. We were peaceful but we still trained as warriors. More of a fate thing, both me and my twin are gifted with a power that is extremely rare amoung our ranks, so we were taken in as soldiers of a higher rank than those who had been in for years before us. We learned and we fought, mostly with eachother, the others couldn't keep up. It was then right after our birthday celebration, an unknown intruding force decimated our little village."

Surprising herself, Nat was interested in his story. "Go on," she said, peeking her nose out of the shrub so she could see him better. "What happened?"
