She looked surprised "I didn't think you could OWN magic?" she said sceptically.

"Well, my magic is mine," he said musingly. "Which means I own it. I gave magic to Hayashi as a gift, which he used against his brother and that silly queen he's after." Koatia shrugged. "I can give you magic, and it will be yours. I will not be able to control it. That is, if you wish for it..." He looked at her with his good eye.

She looked suspicious, "I'm not so sure... Ters has magic and all its done is turned her into a stubborn idiot"

"Well maybe that's how it affects her," Koatia suggested. "I do not know how it will affect you, so do not ask. If you wish for magic, just say so, and I will give you it." He bowed his head as a sign of respect before turning back to the map.

She sighed and sat down on the floor "What am I even doing here?" she found herself thinking.

Koatia pored over the map, mumbling things about attacking, and defending. He remembered visiting the strange flying city once, and it had been deserted. He quickly noted that down for future reference. One of the first places he wanted to attack was Hiruko's home, but it was so well hidden, that it would have to wait.

She stood. As she was here, she may as well tell him what she knew. "Kiba, who imprisoned Hayashi, has a house in the cliff, underground, here" she marked the spot with her claw. "Seirei and Tersias' den is in the forest, here" she marked this spot also "And Mira's home in the cliffs, here"

He nodded, listening. As she pointed to the different places, he put a mark and a notation, so that he wouldn't forget. "So the closest to Hayashi is Kiba's house," Koatia said slowly. "Do you know how often he's there, and when he's out? That way, we can start planning when to bust Hayashi out."

"Kiba leaves the house most evenings, either to go to the plains with Seirei or to visit him at their den." she said "Beyond that, I really don't know"

"So the best time is to go in the evening," he muttered, half to himself. "We don't know how long it will take to bust Hayashi out, so we will need to either wait until Kiba has left, then do it quickly. Or we do it bit by bit, unthreading the magic slowly, and then get him out." He turned to Seema. "Any ideas?"

It would be easy enough to create some sort of diversion to delay Kiba's return to his home, especially if he goes to Seirei's den, and Ters... she thought, then shook her head, she couldn't possibly. "None that I would particularly like to follow through" she said honestly.

He nodded. "Very well," he said. He looked out through the tunnel, and discovered it was starting to get dark. "We have spent longer than I thought here," Koatia noted, putting his pen down. "We have yet to make you a bed."

She laughed "I'll sleep on the floor, I'm used to it"

"No, if there is not enough time to make a bed, I insist you have mine," he said. He wanted her to like him, if she was to work for him after all. "I shall sleep on the floor."

She looked at him bizarrely. "You're a very peculiar baddie"

He chuckled. "Why do you say that, Seema?" he asked, dimming the orb so that the room was darker, but still lit. "Is it because you didn't expect me to be so kind to you?"

"No duh" she laughed, "And don't even try it, I told you, I'm not that sort of girl"

"It's not mood lighting, I assure you. It was merely to help you sleep better. Good night, Seema." He bowed, and curled up on the floor. This was definitely going to be a challenge, he knew. Closing his eyes, he found he didn't care. As long as I win Tialka, and take Hiruko down, I don't care.
