Kiba had teleported himself and Nat to a small clearing in the forest. They had arrived to a blissful scene. A little stream added a trickling sound to the otherwise stilll atmosphere, while above them, a few birds chirped in the spindly branches of the trees. "So are you ready to work?" Kiba asked with a smile.

Nat nodded eagerly. "You got it!" she said enthusiastically. She then paused for a moment, looking around her. She did not actually know how to proceed. She turned back to Kiba, looking at him with her puzzled grey eyes. "So ... what do we do?" she asked.

Kiba smiled at Nat's confusion; he probably should have been more specific about his plans. "Well, I will build the actual forge from stone," he said, 'though I would like you to find some fallen trees for timber. Can you do that?" he said, not doubting that she could if she wanted to. She had a petite frame, but he could see plenty of determination.

"I can do it, doesn't mean I will!" she joked, making her way out of the clearing. "I'll be back in a few," she called back as she entered the trees. She made her way deeper into the woodland, and started looking for fallen branches and trees. Much of the debris on the ground was broken. She occassionally saw some larger branches, but they would not do for timber. She would have to resort to cutting a tree down if she could not find anything.

Kiba started raising and moulding the stone and clay in the ground to make the walls and top of the forge itself. He made sure that he left holes for ventilation. He then added supports for the ceiling, which had a large hole in it to let any smoke clear. The walls were designs to reflect heat inwards back to the center of the large forge. After he finished, he sat down and panted lightly, the strain taking it's toll on his body as he waited for Nat to return with the timber.

Nat finally came across what she needed: a large oak tree, freshly fallen. She knew she wouldn't be able to lift it by herself, so she did what came naturally. Bit by bit, she burned off large strips of the tree, stacking the pieces of wood into a pile. When she had finished, she repeatedly went to and from the clearing, dragging the timber in her jaws. It was hard work, but she did it without a fuss.

"Thank you," Kiba said, when she finished pulling the timber up to the forge, just as he had finished his stonecraft. He brought up a few bin-like containers made from stone, and a basic little hut attached to the forge. He placed the wood in the forge and said, "If you want to you can light the first fire!"

She smiled at Kiba. "Gladly," and with a flourish, a burst of fire flared out from the forge, setting the wood inside alight.
"Hmm," she said thoughtfully. "Didn't expect it to be THAT big a fwoosh."

"Aww but that was cool, even you have to admit." He said smiling. "But now we wait for the forge to heat up and in the mean time I'll need to return home for some metal from my private supply."

"WAIT for it to heat up?" she asked incredulously. She almost laughed.
"Kiba, I can control fire, end of. Whether it be location, shape or even heat."

"Though we need a low heat over longer time, creating larger fragments of charcoal, that is what contributes to the steel. Maybe since you are so good with heat, I can teach you how to forge items yourself." He half asked her.

She nodded. "That would be cool," she said. "Though, I've no idea what I'd forge..."
She didn't wear jewelery, pride dictated that she not wear armour, and weapons were useless for her.

"You could forge tools, or you could forge for others. Either way it is a useful skill to have like picking locks for instance."

She scratched her ear. "Why's that?" she asked, leaning into the scratch.
Her eyes never wavered from the dancing flames in the forge.

"It helps you survive, I learned that the hard way. Though that is a tale for another time. For now the metal."

"Mm-hmm, you go get that," she said absently. She stopped scratching her ear, then started to scratch the other one.
For some reason, something itched at them. She couldn't tell what.

He disappeared for a minute or so before he reappeared with a large box of metal and a container of water. He filled the conainer made of stone with the water and the other with an oil. He started organizing the metals and materials and putting them in various slots in the walls, a large bin dedicated to the iron.

Nat watched him as he carefully handled the metal, noting what went where. After all, if she was going to forge things, she may as well start learning now...
She got an odd idea in her head, and purely on impulse, she jumped into the forge's fire, giggling. She hadn't done this in so long.
