Koatia stared into the distance from the meadows, it had been so long since he had faced his enemies in a search for the Kumorishi. His plans were almost ready to be initiated, there was just one thing he had left to do in preparation. He walked across the grass, his nose pointed to the ground. He was sniffing below for a particular scent. His sense of smell was excellent and he had relied on it all the years his eye had become partially blinded. Koatia stopped when he was directly above what he was looking for. Snarling slightly, he lifted his head and looked into the sky. "It is time to bring the thunder." Enormous grey clouds began swirling in the sky and thunder echoed across the fields. Koatia tensed his muscles and small bolts of lightning hit the ground around him. A loud, ferocious roar echoed around the meadow and suddenly, a thick bolt of electric blue lightning hit the ground and penetrated through the earth in front of his paws.
Below the earth, Hayashi lay weak and motionless. He was chained to stone by the paws and could barely move. The sudden rush of electricity through the ceiling of the earthy prison had come and gone in a flash. He felt a sharp jolt near his wrists; the chains had broken, leaving only the bracelet clasps around his paws to remain. Hayashi stood, confused, but realising he was now free. He was unsure of what had happened but he knew what to do next. Bending low, he gained all of his strength and burst through the weakened hole in the ceiling with all his might.
Koatia watched as his old assistant arose from the earth and clutched at the soft grass. The wind was blowing fiercely around them, whipping the wolf's huge mane across his face. "You have been freed," Koatia said to him, a cunning grin covering his jaws. Hayashi didn't respond to him but stood tall on the meadow. "Will you serve me once more and together we can take out revenge on Tialka, the home of those who have destroyed our former lives." Still, Hayashi did not speak. Koatia didn't respond to his silence with confusion; instead, he turned away from him and growled, "follow me" and began slowly prowling away. Hayashi blindly followed him, despite a conflicted mind.

A good while before it happened, Kiba was getting all of his things together for the day. Including the daily food ration for Hayashi. He left Shiro to sleep in, he thought she rather deserved it. He put everything up in his sling bag and teleported outside, noting that it was still raining and a bit cold, so he opened the front door and grabbed his black cloak from it's hook and slipped it on before venturing outside once more.
Kiba felt like walking, protected as he was from the rain and most of the wind. "God... I love weather like this..." He trailed off, though it was true, he much prefered the calm right before a strong storm. It didn't take long though before he reached the area that they had Made to house Hayashi. In the dark of the storm, Kiba couldn't see too much until he got closer, though the scent of electricity was heavy in the air.
He stopped in his tracks when he saw the hole in the ground, grass singed and burned around it. With a frown and a careful check of the temperature, he slipped up and then down into the hole, to see what the damage was from what appeared to be a large lightning strike, or an excavation team with flamethrowers, which seemed MUCH less likely. He stopped when he reached stone, the hole in it continuing down into the dark. He groaned softly, praying for the best, but when he hopped down through the hole, landing silently on the floor a little ways below. He started to panic when he saw the broken chains, and more importantly, what he didn't see, the captive they had held here for so long.

Hiruko was sitting above his den on his favourite branch. He had been watching fearfully as the clouds above grew darker and the wind was strong and fierce. Suddenly, there was a flash of lightning. Normally a typical storm not to panic about, Hiruko felt a sudden jolt of fear within him when he realised that the flash of lightning -which was usually bright white- was in fact a bright blue. There was only one creature he knew that could produce such blue lightning and as he ran towards the meadows where it had hit, a clash of thunder followed him, almost a signal for the start of a new, dark era.

Kiba teleported up to the surface, not particularly caring about the rain anymore. He looked around and sighed, the rain had already washed away any trail or any trace of scent. Hayashi had gotten away. He just stood there for a while, contemplating what this would mean, and what would have to be done.

Hiruko arrived at the place where the lightning bolt had hit. Kiba was standing there too but no one else was to be seen. "I guess I know what happened here..." Hiruko sighed, fearfully. "Are you okay? You aren't hurt or anything are you?" He eyed Kiba up and down in case of injuries if he had seen anyone but he seemed okay.

Kiba sighed and nodded, looking up at the sky, the hood of his cloakfalling back. "He got away Hiruko. And I wasn't here to stop him..." Kiba lowered his gaze and pulled his hood back over his head. "There is nothing here for us. We have to go." Kiba stated simply, trying to focus on what he should be doing, after all, hopefully, there would be time for guilt and blame later.

"It's okay Kiba, don't blame yourself," Hiruko reassured him. "None of us were there, and none of us could have done anything to help it either." He stared into the distance, wondering what Koatia was planning, and more importantly, what he wanted with Hayashi. He shook his head with dismay. "And I really thought we were making progress with Hayashi..." he mumbled.

Kiba nods softly. "We have to go warn the others, no sense in trying to follow them, there is no trail that I can find. The best we can do is make sure that the others are prepared for this. Where to first? I'll take us there fast."

"Yes, I think that would be for the best," he agreed even though he hated letting his friends know that they were in danger. "Perhaps we should start with Seirei?" He wanted to leave Mira until last since he would have to go home to her anyway.

Kiba nods and quickly teleports the two of them from the raining swampy area to the relative dry wamrth of the passage just before Seirei and his mate's den. "Little problem getting here, now we have to explain..." He sighed and pulled his hood back once more, not sure if he had the courage to tell the mother and father that their children might be in danger.

((OOC - For continuity sake, keeping the den scene in this thread instead of moving it to Lacina Forest))
Seirei and his family had kept to the den all day due to the unexpected stormy weather. Lying in front of the fire, Aislin and Ebony snuggled up in their father's warm fur, he could hear the soft sound of rain as it permeated the forest, the leaves rustling in the wind.
He jumped slightly when he heard a knock at the door. Who could it be at this hour? he wondered as he got up stiffly to answer. It was actually late afternoon, but the terrible weather had dimmed the light greatly that came through the circular skylight of the den, giving the impression of evening. On the other side of the door stood Hiruko and Kiba, serious looks on their faces. Seirei could tell something was wrong by looking into their eyes, filled with worry and uncertainty. He ushered them in without a word, closing the door quickly behind them, and for safe measure, bolted it too.
Seirei didn't bother with greetings, 'Has something happened?' Behind him his five cubs gathered in a little huddle, staring at their guests with confusion. Tersias was asleep on the bed; this type of weather always made her drowsy.

"Hi Seirei," Hiruko said in a very serious tone for talking to his closest friend, Seirei. "May we come in?" As he stepped inside the den, he saw the pups all staring at them.
"I-I think it would be best if we talked where 'little ears' aren't listening," he whispered. Moving to the far end of the room, Hiruko could finally talk to Seirei. "Seirei...there's been some terrible things happening. Koatia has returned. His strength is beyond the norm and he has freed my brother from the prison we held him in. I can only guess what he is planning and it is not going to be good." He had a fearful look in his eyes. He was worried for Seirei, and his family. And soon, his own.

Seirei had to sit down at the news. He turned his back on his watchful cubs to hide his expression: shocked and still. He kept his voice low, 'The timing was perfect then. Mylar's discovery couldn't have been more perfect. I mean, he says it's his duty to protect the world... but we still don't actually know what he can do. He's so tiny for one thing.'
Seirei looked over at his mate on the other side of the room, asleep and peaceful. 'Tersias isn't going to like this one bit, you know how protective she gets. Plus she'd go mental if I have to leave her for a long time again but...' He shook his head, clearing his senses. 'But this is more important.' He gestured for Kiba to walk over to join in the conversation, 'I think the best thing would be is to have a meeting with Mylar, and find out what our new friend is really capable of. Then we can work out our approach. But it needs to be fast.'
Seirei walked over to Tersias and licked her on the nose, waking her. He quickly briefed her on the situation and what his role could involve. Being the amazing, supportive mate that she was, she didn't nag one bit, but instantly gathered the cubs into the spare room out of the way and went in there with them, shutting the door behind them. Seirei then turned back to the other two and explained, 'Tersias says she's going to start digging tunnels. Alternate escape routes, dead ends, you know. In case we're infiltrated.'

Hiruko felt saddened for dampening Seirei's spirits. "I am sorry for the bad new," he said in a low voice. "I really thought I was getting somewhere with Hayashi but...alas, he holds onto his hatred."
After what Seirei said about Mylar, Hiruko thought for a moment. "Wait...Mylar said that he would awaken when he was needed to protect the world and in particular, the Kumorishi." It was then that Hiruko realised that things could be worse than they had expected. "I think...I think things are going to get ugly in Tialka," Hiruko announced. "And I believe there's only one person who can help us: we must talk to Mylar."
The clouds outside were dark and menacing. A flash of lightning and the following of the thunder struck fear into his heart. Dark times lay ahead.
