Panting a little, Seirei thought he had finally caught up with the little ball of light and started when he almost bumped into Hiruko and Nat in the darkness. So the light was Nat's fire in the end he realised in his head.
'New friend? Who?' Seirei looked around him but could only see darkness; Nat's fire could only illuminate so much of the walls around them. Then he heard it too, the echoing growls in the distance coming from the dark passage ahead of them, and then an unfamiliar voice responding. 'We'd better help him then! You can tell me about our new inhabitant on the way..' And Seirei started to trot with the others in the direction of all the commotion.

"Well, basically, I found him a few nights ago alone and injured," Hiruko said, jogging at the same pace as the others. "He is very wary of us and doesn't trust us much but I can't give up on him. As far as I know, he has no one. Then he began looking for a home and we came across this cave. Kiryu ran off ahead and now he appears to have gotten himself in trouble."

'Not having a very lucky start here is he?' Seirei replied, 'But still, I agree with you. We must give everyone a chance. I'm just sorry his first memories here will be so chaotic...'
The three of them continued running until the passage widened into a circular cavern and then Seirei saw him for the first time. A glimpse of silver fur reflecting the light coming from a hole in the roof of the cave. And, what was that.. a wing? Just one? Seirei had never come aross such a creature before in his life, but Hiruko seemed to trust him so he had to follow his friend's instincts for now.
And then the animal was gone. Did he have powers too? Seirei looked around him confused, his claws digging into the earth and his wings flexing. 'There's darkness here...' he growled.

Kiryu noticed colour wash into the entrance of the cavern, Nat's tail illuminating the darkness. The fox's keen senses allowed him to take note of some shadows in the back of the cave. He snuck over to the corner and briskly uncurled his wing batting one of the opponents into the middle of the cavern, with the light piercing onto the creature it stood up, on two legs it's scrawny body could be seen. A humanoid bat with razor sharp fangs, the creature hissed and looked at the silver fox behind it jumping towards Kiryu with it's claws at the ready.
Kiryu engaged the bat head by leaping onto the caverns walls to pounce at his assailant, he caught it off guard but before being able to finish the creature off was picked up by another bat and lifted into the air. Kiryu dangled above ground helplessly as the bat flew him around the room. The fox began beating his wing to throw it's balance off before leaning upwards to swipe the bat across the chest, he fell to the floor landing on his wing to cushion the blow. The fox stood up now standing before his friends as more of the bats took to the air and moved across the cavern to the group.

"Looks like we have trouble," Hiruko said to them all as he saw the humanoid bats attacking Kiryu full on. Noticing the rest of them coming to Kiryu's side, the demonic creatures hissed and many began sprawling towards Seirei, Nat and Hiruko. One of them began attacking Seirei but before Hiruko could rush to help, he was knocked over by another one of the bats. Hiruko quickly got to his feet and began summoning his earth powers into a glowing green orb that he shot at the attacking bat. It fell to the floor, dazed and injured but more were overwhelming them. "We have to work as a team!" Hiruko shouted. "Kiryu, stay together!"

The fox leapt from bat to bat in midair, looking down at Hiruko he called out "That's easier said then done." The fox took flight on his wing to dodge an incoming aggressor before gliding to the ground. He wrapped himself in his wing to defend against and incoming projectile, the fox then sprang out as a bat flew towards him, he nimbly leapt out of the way as the creature collided with one of it's own behind him.
Kiryu noted the numbers were not in their favor, he leapt towards the others using his wing as a shield in front of them "There's time to leave" he said as another bat collided into him, one of them put it's head through a hole in his wing and bit into it. "Go now! I can hold them back for a little bit longer" Kiryu smiled at his companions for the first time a hearty smile as he yelped from the pain.

They were clearly outnumbered by their strange bat-like enemies. One suddenly flew towards him out of the darkness and started clinging to his chest with its claws, digging into his flesh. Seirei growled and with one fierce swipe he discharged silver sparks from his tail, flinging the attacker against the wall of the cavern. It crumpled to the floor, singed.
At Kiryu's actions he snarled, 'Don't be stupid! We're not just going to run away and let them rip you apart.' Seirei pushed his way through the fox's wing and stood beside him, his own wings outspread, angry sparks of lightning flickering from his tail, ready to strike. He looked back at the other two. 'Together.'

Seirei was right. Hiruko wasn't going to give up, and nor were the others. It was going to be a tough battle but they were strong enough to fight the bat-like creatures. Standing like a wall against the creatures along with Nat, Seirei and Kiryu, the creatures had nowhere to go but towards them. There were about several dozen left, some were lying dead along the floor from the battle.
With nowhere to go, the enemy ran towards their wall and Hiruko was ready for them. He high kicked one in the face as it frantically scattered towards him with hungry eyes. Cupping his hands as if holding an invisible ball, he formed a green sphere and blasted it into the stunned bat. One more down. But there was still many left. The noise of the bats was slowly dying down as less of them were standing.

Nat was standing in the midst of a large crowd of the bat-people. It was strange - she had found herself in battle before, but she had never been this scared or this desperate. Was it because what she was up against weren't intelligent?
As they closed in on her, Nat saw the war she had been in flash in front of her eyes, confusing one battle with the other. In her mind, she saw her brother Tian. He had been the strongest of them all, and she had watched him die. With everything flickering in her vision, Nat saw Tian die over and over again, increasing her heartsickness and her sorrow and her anger.
"AAAARRRRGGGGHHHH!!!!"
Nat's scream echoed around the cave, and fire burst out of every pore in her body, wreathing her body in flame before reaching out to burn her attackers. The bats screeched in pain, until all that was left of her attacking crowd was ash.
The fire died down, but did not abate. Nat was still wreathed in fire, and her red eyes glinted with malice. With a snarl, she ran towards the bats still attacking her friends, and she bit and clawed and swiped at any bat limb she could find.

Kiryu smiled just for a moment, but long enough. He began to spin his wing throwing off his attackers, focusing his inner strength and calming his mind, his silver fur began to glow and shine brightly. The bright light that bounced and emanated from Kiryu blinded the bats temporarily and that was all he needed, jumping forward Kiryu pounced into a bat whilst knocking another unconscious with his wing, Kiryu pushed himself from the other creature when he noticed that a bat was hanging from a hole in his wing. Shaking the creature free it fell to the floor pinning another two bats, a few more came out of the pitch black of the cave no doubt awakened by the bright light from before. "Nothing but stragglers" He muttered before sliding into another bat.
A little ahead of the others due to his lack of ranged powers Kiryu was now fighting in the middle of the chamber, the largest looking bat so far most likely a chieftain came up to fight the Fox. This was his new home and this would be his fight to prove it....

The real fight had commenced. Nat alight with flames, Hiruko blasting them one by one, and Kiryu head on with the leader of the attackers. Seirei relished in every strike as he clawed, ripped apart with his teeth and shocked with his tail the stragglers of the creatures. It was working. They were an unbeatable force and very quickly the large numbers of enemies were reduced to nothing. Only Kiryu and the largest of the bats were left fighting. Seirei sensed that this was a fight that Kiryu would not want interrupted. Finishing off his last victim with a strong strike of his paw, he stood back to watch Kiryu in action. It was clear that he was skilled and knew what he was doing.

Kiryu looked over to his companions. Killed them all? They were much stronger than he had anticipated, The giant bat leader moved towards Kiryu, who dropped to the floor whimpering. The bat moved towards him stepping on his wing and Kiryu pulled his wing sharply, catching it by surprise. Kiryu leapt forward towards the large bat which moved backwards as he threw punch after punch at the bat who disengaged before trying to claw at Kiryu unexpectedly.
A small cut appeared across his cheek but quickly healed before the bats eyes, smiling Kiryu decided to end it. Jumping towards his aggressor Kiryu bounced off the bat and into the air of the cave, spinning at incredible speed he created a whirlwind that engulfed his foe. Kiryu leapt onto the walls, pushing himself off to attack the bat much more dangerously than he normally would, when he had enough he let the whirlwind fall and the bat fell to the floor, still alive but far too wounded to move.
The bat lay there before Kiryu mercifully killed the creature, ripping at it's throat the creature was now dead and the cave now belonged to him. Kiryu smiled but considered how much cleaning up he would have to do, suddenly the smile dropped from his face.

After having contributed to the fight, Nat recognised that the final battle was not to be hers. Still wreathed in flame, she watched Kiryu fight the bat chief.
A smile spread across her face when he won, but the fire dimmed. The fight was over now, it was not needed.
Nat's red eyes rolled to the back of her head as she fainted with a quiet sigh.

As the fight ended, everyone relaxed a little and there was an eerie silence filling the cave.
"I guess this makes the cave yours," Hiruko said to Kiryu. "You've certainly earned it! None of us had to go through any of this to claim our territories. But it's okay, we can help clear this up." Hiruko began dragging some of the small bats towards the entrance of the cave and then chucking them into the fast flowing river so that the river would consume and dispose of them.

Seirei sighed with relief when the fight was finally over. He could feel sweat trickling all over his face and he had to fan himself a few times with his wings to cool his body down; the cavern's temperature had risen considerably after Nat's fiery outburst. As Hiruko and Kiryu started cleaning up the mess, Seirei picked up the zonked out Nat with his tail and flopped her over his back until she woke up; it was amazing how much energy she could produce.
He made his way, scraping a few of the bat remains along with him as he went, to the entrance of the cave where the curtain of the waterfall splashed noisily. Following Hiruko's lead, he pushed them into the river and watched as they sped away with the current. And stay out.. he thought bitterly. Seirei had never known that those creatures had existed, but perhaps they had been attractd by Kiryu's new strong presence.

Kiryu laughed a little, a clean up crew was just what the cave filled with dead bats needed. He heaved the bats chieftain onto his back and began to flap his one wing, flying into the sky Kiryu went through the hole in the roof and dropped the bats chieftain into the rushing water. Watching the body flush away Kiryu claimed Isel falls as his own place, it had been a very long time since he had a place of his own he thought sadly.
Kiryu flew back into the cavern, it was not often he flew for he was quicker on his feet and proceeded to kick the bats out into the waterfall by leaping off the walls gaining momentum to push the bats, this sent bat after bat into the water and out of his home.
"Is she OK?" Kiryu called out pointing towards Nat. "I've had enough of people dying in my home today," he called out jokingly.

Seirei smiled at Kiryu's sudden change in mood, it suited him to be so upbeat. 'She'll be fine!' he called up to the fox as he dashed here, there, and everywhere in the blink of an eye. 'She just can't control her powers sometimes. It's happened before.' Seirei rested Nat on the lush grass on the river bank and dipped his tail into the river. He then bounced his tail up and down above Nat's face, causing dozens of cool droplets to splash onto her face, hoping this would wake her up.

Nat's eyelids flickered as the droplets of water spattered her face. Bringing up a paw to block the water, Nat opened her eyes.
"Wha?" she asked wearily. "What happened?" The last thing she remembered was being surrounded by those bat people, and now she was outside - 'What's going on?' she thought.
