"Tialka is my home and these are my people. I'm not afraid of you any more, Kurai" she growled as she watched Nat and Kiryu corner the man she had spent so long living in fear of.
She turned her attention back to Seirei. "I'm sorry I had to put you in danger like this, brother. But it was the only way to be sure we could get Kurai where we wanted him." she said softly, fetching a pillow to prop under his head.

Seirei groaned as he felt a pulsing sensation on the back of his head. His eyes opened a crack, but had to shut them instantly as a wave of light and heat blazed before him. Squinting, he managed to turn his head a little to the left to see familiar silhouettes dancing on the walls, their shadows projected by the flame.
He felt a gentle paw turn his head back into place, putting a pillow underneath it, and again that strange pulsing sensation, similar to Hiruko's when he was healing. But it was not Hiruko. "S-Seema ..." he mumbled.

Kiryu snarled, baring his fangs at the wolf. He would repay Kurai in kind for the way he had treated Seema, he walked towards the wolf. He feinted to the right before quickly darting left, his blow glancing off the wolf. "How does it feel?" he smirked, "To have one's plans lie in tattered ruins around them?"
Kiryu swept his body, highlighting the motion in his wing, before dropping to the ground and sweeping his foot at the wolf. Kurai jumped over his attack, but was caught offguard by the follow-up as Kiryu's wing hit him squarely in the chest. C'mon Seirei, get up!

Nat watched Kiryu attack, waiting for an opportune moment. Quickly, she reminded her flames not to burn the one-winged fox. As she dove towards the black wolf, she brushed past Kiryu. As always, her flames obeyed her and left him unharmed. Smiling, she clawed at Kurai. She had hoped to get a good shot at his face, but had to settle with aiming for his shoulder.

Seema smiled and sighed with relief. "Yes, Seirei, it's me. We have everything under control, just stay where you are" she said softly, sending another orb to his injuries.
Seema had to sit down at this point. Beads of sweat were coming down her forehead - this magic stuff was more tiring than she had expected. "Just rest" she said softly.

Kurai grew exhausted as his body was flung across the room, first by Kiryu, and then he was beaten up badly by Nat and her flames. Damn it, he thought angrily, These were not the ones I wanted to fight! "Eurrrgh!" he cried, as he swung at Nat. Her flames burnt badly, but he managed to catch her under the jaw. His next target was Kiryu, the solid wall between himself and his brother, who he had noticed was waking up. Cursing, he swung at the one spot he knew would do the most damage. Focussing his strength, his clamped down on Kiryu's wing joint with his powerful jaws, snapping the bone which held the wing in place. The wing did not break off, but feathers were flying everywhere, and the wing flopped down, powerless.

As Kurai's paw caught her jaw, Nat couldn't help but yelp in pain. She fell back, the surprise extinguishing her fire, and she landed painfully on her spine. Shaking her head, she forced herself to get up, and put the pain to the back of her mind. She was still able to fight, and she had promised Seema that she would do what she could.
Nat tried to bring back her fire, but found that she couldn't; the pain was obviously distracting her from her power. She would have to rely on brute force this time. Taking a deep breath, she dove at Kurai as he broke Kiryu's wing, claws outstretched.

Kiryu dodged the wolfs teeth, Kurai had anticipated that and caught his wing as it flew through the air behind him. The wolf had clamped onto him, a muffled cry escaped his lips as the bone snapped. Soon after Nat had re-engaged her assault, allowing him to recover. The pain dissipated and he stood up, his wing hanging limply down his back, the nerves along the spine of his wing protesting in agony.
I know you are in pain, now instead focus on healing it, a trick to lessening the stress his body was under. He may have lost an advantage, but if anything he was quick. He stood up, before calling out "Kurai!" He braced a smile, the adrenaline reducing his pain. "I guess it's over, revenge didn't work out as planned?" If he needed to bait Kurai for long enough to allow Seirei to get up, and that he would make a mistake that Nat could capitalize on.

Seema watched Kiryu and Nat fight anxiously. With both of them injured, the fight could get messy and she couldn't be sure of them winning. She had to do something. Propping Seirei up on his pillows, she stood, pulling herself up to her full height. She approached the others, sending another of her orbs Nat's way as she walked. This orb was much smaller than the others had been, but she hoped it would be enough - she couldn't afford to drain herself any more than she already had if she was going to fight.
"Of course it didn't work out, because you were too cowardly to do your own dirty work. Problem with trusting other people is that their pesky feelings tend to get in the way, don't they Kurai?" grinned Seema nastily. She didn't know why Kiryu was baiting him, but she figured if he was doing it then she may as well join in.

With every passing minute that Seema's magic healed him, Seirei could feel his mind grow clearer and sharper. Of course, that meant the pain was sharper too, but he had had enough in his lifetime to know how to deal with it. He watched, helpless, as Seema left his side and bravely stepped in front of Kurai to confront him with a taunt. Something clicked in Seirei's head. First Kiryu was mocking Kurai, and now Seema? Was it that they were biding time, waiting for him to get back into the battle?
Nat was in severe pain, Seirei could see that now, and so was Kiryu by the looks of his tattered wing. "Damn ... it ..." he snarled, as he struggled to get to his feet. He fell down heavily on the floor after the first two attempts, but with the third, he braced his body against the wall, allowing it to hold some of the weight. Seema's magic had seemed to have helped. Seirei could not feel any more blood trickling down his neck; the wound must have healed closed.
Along with the pain, Seirei could feel that inner strength and anger building up, until it was all too much. Seirei had reached breaking point. "How dare you ..." he muttered, his voice low and deadly. His tail flicked side to side violently, in a rhytmic pattern, side to side to side with great swishes. Outside the den, a low rumble of thunder sounded in the sky and a sudden gust of wind hurtled down the tunnel and into the den, filling the space.
His fur rustling animatedly in the gusts, Seirei raised his tail. His friends were in pain, he could not bear it. "How DARE you hurt them!" he roared, as his tail was flung down with an almighty force. Thousands of sparks erupted from his tail in a mighty arc, which flew over the other Tialkans' heads as they ducked low to the ground. The sparks caught Kurai dead centre in the chest and he was thrown backwards into the wall so hard that his body made a huge crack in the condensed earth.

Seirei was back in the fight and Kiryu was not one to waste an advantage. "Hey Kurai, catch!" He threw his limp wing in the wolf's direction. Kurai was stunned long enough to instinctively hold his paws up to catch it, allowing Kiryu time to land a flurry of punches on the wolf. The now very battered Kurai slumped against the wall.
Without taking his eyes off the wolf, Kiryu called out, "Seirei, what do we do with him?" He looked briefly towards Seema beside him, glad she was unscathed. It was a shame the same could not be said for the other combatants and Seirei's home.

As Hiruko lay in his bed, the two cubs beside him, he awoke suddenly at the sound of thunder echoing across the woodland. He glanced outside to see dark clouds merging together, swirling around a familiar spot over Seirei's den. Knowing all too well that this storm was Seirei's doing, he quickly but gently left the room and out through the front door, dashing towards his friend's house. When he arrived, he was shocked at the scene he had come across.
Stepping over what remained of Seirei and Tersias' front door, Hiruko walked into a sight: Kai in a crumpled mess across the floor whilst Kiryu, Nat, Seirei and Seema panted with exhaustion from what seemed to have been an exhausting battle. Hiruko's jaw dropped as he stared at the scene. "What happened?" he said firmly, concerned for the well-being of his friends. He took a short glance at Seema and for a moment, his heart sank. Her, he thought angrily. But his suspicions were soon lost when Seirei stood protectively next to her. Confused, Hiruko gazed at each of them, waiting for one of them with enough breath to explain the situation.

Nat stepped forward as Kurai fell. Summoning fire, she asked them to bind Kurai like ropes would. "If he happens to struggle against them, they will burn him," she explained. Though looking at the damage we've dealt, I doubt he'll want to anytime soon, she thought.
Hiruko chose that moment to burst through the door, though Nat did not even flinch. Instead, she turned her head to stare at him with her bright red eyes. "Finally chosen to appear, have we?" she asked, a little annoyance in her tone. Hiruko was a Founder, he should have been there. Then again, he had been with his and Mira's children.
"Hang on," she added, confused. "If you're here, and Mira's with Tersias and her pups, who's looking after..." Nat racked her brain for the Koudo cubs' names, "Lena and Lios?"

Kurai did not believe it. He would not. How did this happen? he thought furiously. Not Seirei. How could he have grown so strong? It's this world ... and these Tialkans, as they call themselves. What kinds of fools would risk their own lives for a stupid wolf like him?
Seirei's blow of sparks and rage had been his downfall. Utterly weak, he had slumped down the wall which he had been thrown against, his body in tatters. Kurai's eyes widened in fear as they looked into those of his brother. His brother, who looked so ominous and deadly with the wind, fire and thunder around him. There was something in those eyes that he had only seen once before. It was the same anger as his father's, the night he had banished his eldest son to the wilderness.
Kurai did not struggle as the fire fox tied the bonds around him. His attention stayed fixed on Seirei, his mind detached from his body as he lost the fight inside him. He slumped to the floor, barely conscious, but with his eyes still open, empty eyes staring at the floor, as if he had seen a ghost.

What do we do with him ...
Kiryu's words circled round Seirei's head again and again, like on some kind of cycle. He knew what he wanted to do. He stepped slowly forwards, swaying a little, but mind quite steady, step by step moving closer to the defeated black wolf. He wanted to kick him, and beat him, and cause him pain. Pain for the eight long years of mental and emotional turmoil. Revenge for the pain that he had put his family and friends through. Seirei raised his right paw high into the air, sparks still crackling in his tail from his previous outburst.
I'm here, silly ...
Somewhere, Seirei heard Tersias' voice ringing inside his head. It was soothing, calming the flame of rage inside his chest. He lowered his paw a little, but it was still raised, hesitantly. He turned his head to look at Seema, who was looking at him back, a frown on her face. They were so alike. Tersias would not want him to kill his own brother. Even if it would end his pain, it would just make him like Kurai, a vengeful, soulless murderer.
Seirei's ear twitched as he sensed a new presence in the room. It was Hiruko, standing behind him with a stunned expression. Hiruko would not want a founder of their world to fall to such darkness. "You lost, brother ..." Seirei spoke in a low voice. He then raised his volume so his friends could hear. "He can live the rest of his days in the old prison pit which Hayashi used to inhabit. For now, at any rate ..." Seirei turned his back on his brother and walked towards the now empty doorway of the den, the door now lying in splinters across the floor. He stopped in front of Hiruko. He could not explain, he just stared into those green eyes.

Outside the empty doorway, a scramble of activity came suddenly into earshot. There were scrabbling footsteps, and squeaks and gasps at the sight of the splintered and broken door, and then Kai and Sai burst into the den in a flurry of activity.
"Daddy!" squeaked Sai, dashing to Seirei's side and nuzzling his fur. Kai wasn't far behind, and the two boys clung to their father as if their lives depended on it.
It wasn't long before the confusion at the pups' presence was cleared up. Within a few seconds of their arrival, pounding footsteps were heard. Someone sprinting, as if being chased, or as if chasing something. Tersias burst in, not even pausing to look at the broken door. She was out of breath, panting heavily, and her eyes darted around the room frantically for a few seconds before noticing the two cubs cuddled up to their father.
"Sai... Kai," she squeaked, "don't you ever scare me like that again! What were you thinking, running off like that?!" she scolded, pulling them off of their father and opening their bedroom door, which seemed to have escaped any serious damage. "Get in there, I will deal with you in a minute."
Once the two run aways were out of sight, Tersias took a few deep breaths and looked around the room, taking in the scene before her. She approached Kurai, looking him up and down. This wolf had hurt her partner, terrorised her sister and threatened her cubs, and yet seeing him like this, he looked almost pathetic. She shook her head, turning away from him. "Is everyone okay?" she asked softly, looking from Kiryu's broken wing to Nat, who was nursing her jaw, to Seema, who seemed unhurt but exhausted.

Hiruki stood watching them all as Tersias fled through the door with her two pups, apparently as shocked and confused as he was. "Seirei ..." Hiruko said softly, putting both paws on his friend's shoulders. "What happened?"
Looking around to see Kai in a crumpled mess convinced him he was not as trustworthy as he had made out to be. We must thoroughly check our new arrivals from now on... Hiruko thought, his mind off at a tangent before shaking himself back into the morbid reality.

Seirei found his voice again after a little while. It was hoarse and croaky, but it was enough to try and start some form of explaination for Hiruko, whose eyes showed both shock and concern, if not a little confusion as well. "It would seem that my brother Kurai - the worthless lump on the floor back there - managed to find his way to Tialka, without my knowledge of his presence here. Apparently those he encountered know him as his alias 'Kai'." An original name. Seirei thought with bitterness. Didn't look very far when you picked it, did you Kurai? A further shame to our father ... "He came here with one purpose it would seem. To try and kill me, and hurt my family in the process." That was all Seirei could say for now. His throat closed up at the last sentence, and he fought back the emotion.
For now, he had to keep his mind clear. He would first deal with Kurai properly, although in Seirei's mind the mutt did not deserve it, and then it was up to him to rebuild his home and keep his family safe. He turned back to where Kurai lay, still bound in Nat's fiery bonds. "Could you stop the flames for me, Nat?" he asked the fox who stood close by. "He won't go anywhere. The bonds will be enough for what I need to do."
