Hiruko sat in the branch of a tree within the forest thinking about the happenings over the past few weeks. So much had been going on: his cubs had been born, a variety of new creatures had arrived in Tialka, Mylar had been discovered and Koatia had tried to attack them only to be stopped by Hayashi who had now joined sides with them.
However, one thing that was becoming common among the residents of Tialka was their previous homelands echoing back into their hearts, whether directly calling them back, an appearance of a relative (as in Hiruko and Tersias' case) or even just a memory haunting the mind of a lonely individual. It had been 3 years since Hiruko had left his homeworld where he had grown up and life was so much different now. He had left his previous life in such a hurry, he hadn't really turned back to overlook his memories. Only the painful ones left scars upon his heart. Though his hope of his brother being the sibling they once were had been fulfilled, Hiruko still held onto the foolish actions of Hayashi during their childhood and how much pain it had caused them both.
A rustle of leaves and twigs could be heard close by and without warning, Hayashi had appeared beside Hiruko. There was an awkward silence as Hiruko had just been thinking about his previous actions and neither wanted to break the tension. Hiruko wished someone would break it for them.
<<OOC - I don't feel it necessary to switch between the Hiruko and Hayashi account when they are both together so I will simply be posting them as one when they are together. Please feel free to join the post!>>

Seirei strolled through his home forest alone, feeling a little put-out. Seema was taking care of the pups back at the den while he went off to have a think. It had taken him a while to trust the fox enough to leave his children alone with her, but she seemed to be honouring her promise and also her sister's need to spend time on her home world, so he had reluctantly had to put aside any grudges for his family's sake.
His ears twitched a little when he heard some distant rustling and could see a couple of silhouettes between the branches. Probably just Hiruko and Mira, Seirei thought, speeding up a little. He was always happy to have a catch-up, especially now they had two little cubs of their own to take care of. Seirei sighed. How he missed Tersias, but she didn't say when she would be back. He paused suddenly, when he finally came into a small clearing. Hiruko was indeed there, but in the place of Mira was Hayashi, the brother. Seirei had never actually spoken with Hayashi, not really ever having the chance to before, also because he was still unsure of how things stood. He greeted them anyway, "Hello you two."

Hiruko and Hayashi both turned to face Seirei who was walking through the forest. "Hi Seirei," Hiruko said, glad that it was his closest friend to come and break the silence. He leapt down from the tree so as not to be rude. Hayashi said nothing but followed suit, standing a distance away from them both. He did not hold a grudge or anything but he wasn't used to the others yet and felt a little embarrassed. He didn't even feel comfortable around his own brother.
Seeing Hayashi's awkwardness, Hiruko decided to make him feel more comfortable. "Seirei, this is Hayashi as you know," he said, introducing them. "Hayashi, this is Seirei - co-founder of Tialka." Hayashi flinched at the word 'founder' as if it was some foul word. His expression soon changed back to normal and he smiled subtly at Seirei.
Well, this is awkward Hayashi thought to himself. Only a few weeks ago, me and Koatia were planning to steal this wolf's pups. Now I am being greeted kindly by him. He shook the thought from his mind. After all, he was trying to change. But he had hoped that the third founder would be here...

The moment was definitely awkward, but Seirei tried hard for Hiruko to be civil and break the ice. "Of course," Seirei nodded with a smile; he knew that his friend wanted his brother to be accepted. Whether or not his past actions could be forgotten was a thought for another day. "How are your wounds healing up?" He inquired kindly. "I know you took a bit of a beating." Seirei wasn't a stranger to injuries, he'd recovered from several maladies, but the memories were still there and would never go away. Perhaps the real question he wanted to ask was how Hayashi was coping emotionally. Just looking at him now he seemed a little lost, you could tell by his eyes, the way he shifted from paw to paw.

"Im fine now," Hayashi mumbled bluntly. Hiruko awaited for him to continue but he spoke no more and settled on folding his arms.
"He's not out of the woods yet," Hiruko finished for him. "His wounds are still mending, some may become very faint scars but nothing more than that." Hayashi rolled his eyes as if he was being fussed over by a worried parent. He couldn't understand Hiruko's sudden change towards him. Before, he had not trusted him, even after he had risked his life for the tribe. It was as if Hiruko had found something within him to forgive his brother. Hayashi didn't understand forgiveness quite like Hiruko. It was something he would have to learn.
"Koatia will not stop until he is dead, you know," Hayashi blurted out, quite out of the blue. Hiruko stared it him in surprise. "The last time I was working by his side, he already had confident plans to steal the Kumorishi, regardless of the barrier that it is sealed within. Koatia is never wrong when he believes something will work." Hiruko despised listening to how Hayashi used to work along side his nemesis. However, it also gave him a brilliant idea. His knowledge of Koatia's thoughts and actions could prove useful for the tribe in working out strategies to stop him from obtaining the Kumorishi.
"Hayashi, I have found a use for you yet," Hiruko said smiling. Hayashi raised an eyebrow and pouted slightly but continued to fold his arms and stare away from them. "Besides your amazing strength and combat skills of course. You have spent a large amount of time with Koatia. We could use a mind like yours, one who has been influenced by Koatia's and is therefore aware of how he thinks." Hayashi turned to face Hiruko in surprise. He did not seem doubtful of Hiruko's plan and was in fact quite interested by his proposal. "It would greatly help in providing stretegies if Koatia does decide to attack."

Mira wandered through the forest, her two cubs in the sling that hung beneath her belly. In the distance, she could see three silhouettes. She recognised two of them immediately - the massive wings gave Seirei a distinctive look, while she could never mistake Hiruko for anyone else. The third silhouette took her a while to place, but she then realised the similarity between it and Hiruko and guessed it would be Hayashi.
"Hello." Mira smiled in greeting. "How is everyone?" She relaxed her demeanor, knowing that Hayashi was to be accepted into the Tribe. Lena and Lios fidgeted in the sling, so Mira released them and they happily played together on the grass.

Hiruko beamed at the sight of his lovely Mira and the two cubs who had recently opened their eyes and were able to stand. He ran over to her and hugged her softly. Hayashi lowered his head trying to appear as if he didn't care but the truth was he did.
Mira was smiling at the two cubs who were playing sweetly on the grassy floor and as she looked at Hiruko in a loving gaze, Hayashi couldn't help but long for that gaze to be directed at him. Her icy blue eyes possessed a strange, seductive power that Hayashi couldn't look away from. He shifted his gaze quickly so as not to look like he was staring.
Hiruko saw him frown as they began playing with the cubs and decided not to make too much attention lie with his children. "Me, Hayashi and Seirei were just getting to know one another," Hiruko explained. "We are educating Hayashi about our way of life. It's not really something he's used to, not in a long time." He whispered the last sentence but he knew too well Hayashi's acute sense of sound picked it up fine. Hayashi barely reacted to it but deep inside, he knew Hiruko was right.
He missed their old world sorely but there was no chance that he would be able to return.
"They want to use me," Hayashi said gruffly to Mira. "It's definately what I'm used to."

Mira raised a brow, feeling sceptical about the situation. She looked Hayashi in the eye. "I highly doubt that they mean to use you in the same way that Koatia once did," she said firmly. "I'm almost certain that whatever they ask of you will never be intended malevolently." She glanced at her cubs quickly to make sure they were fine. "Besides," she added, looking back at the group. "I wouldn't let them use you in a way you're uncomfortable with."

"Hello Mira." Seirei greeted the leopard with a smile. "And hello Lios and Lena!" he cooed at the cubs. They were so adorable. They reminded him of his pups when they were still new borns. He felt a sudden pang of guilt in his stomach, but quickly shook it off when he heard Hiruko's idea. "I don't think any of us would use you as a tool, Hayashi." Seirei said gently, trying to keep the peace a little. "But if you could be of any help towards our cause we would really appreciate it. We wouldn't force you to do anything if you said no." Seirei felt for the two tiger brothers. Hiruko because he was trying so hard and Hayashi because he was clearly uncomfortable, but Seirei was certain that behind the attitude he wanted to contribute something.

Hayashi said nothing but his mind was a knotted tangle of thoughts. Why do they care about me so? he thought to himself. Perhaps they are simply being courteous to please my brother. But deep inside, Hayashi knew the founder's kindness was genuine. His understanding of it was something he could not figure out.
"Koatia has a huge plan to steal the Kumorishi," Hayashi explained. "However, he would not tell me his plan in detail. He feared I had...held regrets about my path on the road of shadow. And he was right." Hiruko smiled a little as it was a triumph for his family that his brother had returned to the right side. There was a slight pause before Hayashi spoke more, apparently unaware that his mentioned use earlier was certainly proving helpful.
"Do any of you actually know what dark power the Kumorishi holds?" he looked at them each in turn - subtly focusing his gaze on Mira the longest. When none of them spoke and simply shook their heads, he continued: "It has the power to raise an army of dark minions. They revel in shadow and are the perfect weapon of destruction if used for the intentions of a dark mind. They have previously wiped out entire worlds before when they were used. The army then returns to the shadows once their purpose has been fulfilled. I can only imagine what Koatia has in mind for his perfect army." An unseen darkness clouded over them all as Hayashi explained and Hiruko couldn't help but feel a sense of loss settling in his heart. Was it true? Did Koatia really have a way of retrieving the Kumorishi and raising a dark army for his twisted purposes?
Hiruko looked around at the others for a response. "We...we are in grave danger." He looked at his son and daughter who were oblivious to the worries of those around them. When would they be safe from the dangers of this world?

Mira stared at Hayashi in horror as he described the power of the Kumorishi. Without realising it, she had curled a paw around her cubs and drew them close to her. Lena and Lios nuzzled at their mother affectionately, oblivious to such dark concerns. "There's no way to defeat them?" she asked, but it sounded almost like a statement. "I can't let them be anywhere near my cubs - I won't." An air of defiance surrounded Mira as she spoke. Though she was generally a pacifist, nobody would harm her children - they would die trying.

"Not necessarily," Hayashi said, answering Mira's question and easing her worry. "There is a way otherwise the Kumorishi would not have been up to be placed into the right hands. However I do not know how to defeat them."
Hiruko wondered why such a dark evil even existed to taunt the pure minds of the universe. And then he remembered his father's training: 'One cannot exist without the other. Balance is the key to life's purpose.'
"Wait..." Hiruko said interupting. "You say that these minions are dark creatures of the shadow? Perhaps that is what Tersias had a vision of! It was the minions raised from the Kumorishi not the creatures Kiryu is associated with."

Seirei's eyes glazed over as he remembered how a terrified Tersias had described her vision to him. Everything gone. The grass was burnt, the forest was felled, the birds were silent ... The future that awaited them.
"It would seem so ..." Seirei said thoughtfully, his brow furrowed. He had never really understood how his mate's vision had linked to Kiryu, it had seemed strange to him to force judgement on someone they had barely known at the time. Having heard Hayashi's explaination of the Kumorishi, however, he could finally put two and two together. Seirei spoke up a little louder so they could all hear him. "Right now, the only solution I can see is Mylar. He says he is the guardian of the Kumorishi, and to our knowledge has kept it safe from the wrong hands. But do we actually know where it is? If Mylar told us, then we could help tighten the security, so to speak. I don't know if we're strong enough to hold back whoever wants the Kumorishi forever, but to me that's the only helpful thing we can do right now."

"What creatures?" asked Mira. She'd met Kiryu briefly, but she'd been rather preoccupied with giving birth at the time. "What does he have to do with the Kumorishi?" Mira looked between her two friends with confusion. She looked down at her cubs, and felt a small pang of envy; they were too little to understand. They were also vulnerable. "If Mylar can help us," she added, "we need to do anything and everything we can to make us all safe."

"I don't fully understand it myself, but from what I gathered from Kiryu, he comes from a place he describes as hell. It is in this place that some form of dark creatures tormented him. The night Tersias had her vision, she thought it was these creatures from Kiryu's world that would cause the destruction of Tialka, but it is now more possible that the Kumorishi is the most likely cause." Seirei noticed Mira's worried expression as she cuddled her young cubs close to her breast, and tried to comfort her: "But we won't let that happen. Not if it stays in decent hands."
It seemed that the general consensus was that the top priority was the security of the powerful lifeforce that Mylar was responsible for, what he had woken up at Skalakruh to protect.

Hiruko nodded at Seirei's explaination. "It is quite possible that Mylar will know what to do," Hiruko said to them. Hayashi looked confused when they spoke of Mylar and Hiruko picked up on his expression. "Long story but Mylar is a creature who has been protecting the Kumorishi from creatures like Koatia." He turned to the others in hope that they would aid him. "I think I know where Mylar could be if we can just talk to him about what we might be dealing with." Hiruko noticed Mira's concern for her cubs and he couldn't help but share that worry with her. They were already become playful and mischievous and would easily be potential targets for a cruel and cunning mind like Koatia's.
