Mira wandered about in the grass, the tips of the green blades reaching her nose, which often tickled and made her sneeze. "A-choo!" she sniffed. "Ugh ... why did I come this way?" she asked herself. She came to an area of grass which wasn't as high, thankfully only reaching just under her chin.

Kiba sat in a nearby tree, the moon high in the sky. He decided to sing, even if Seirei wasn't here. He began to howl a low tune. It carried through the area and everything stopped. It always did when either of them sang. The melody carried out to anyone who might be listening.

Mira's ears pricked up as she heard the low melody. Knowing the old song from what Seirei had told her and Hiruko about his past, she hummed along. Although he never spoke of his childhood, he never failed to describe any wolven song he had learned.

Kiba heard a humming coming from nearby. His ears turned, trying to find where from. He continued with the song, wanting to find who had a good voice as well as Seirei and himself.

Mira did not sing, for it was a Wolven Song of Old, and she knew her voice was not right for it. (Which she had discovered when she had first heard the song years ago. Seirei told her never to do it again.) She knew that there were only four possible candidates for the singer, but two of which probably wouldn't waste time with the song. That left Kiba and Seirei.

Kiba saw some brush moving and Mira appeared walking through humming. She would probably follow his voice up into this tree.

She looked up, and found the source of the singing: it was Kiba. She continued to hum along until he brought the song to an end. She sat at the base of the tree, smiling up at him, until she jumped up the branches to sit alongside him.

"The moon is bright tonight isn't it?" He asked her, trying to come up with something to talk about.

"Mmm..." she agreed, staring up at the waning cresent in the sky. "And to think, Tersias will be considered an adult, soon."

"She already is an adult. She just doesn't quite act like one." He stared up into the moon. "Her body has grown and the horomones are flowing."

"Yes, but she mentioned it was both physical and mental," Mira said. "Maybe they're only considered a full adult if both are matured. Her mind, I believe, is going through the transition between child and adult."

"My big question, is if she will still be our little Tersias or if she will be more like Seema."

"I hope she won't be like Seema," said Mira. "That fox has an attitude I dislike." She paused. "I doubt Tersias will change that dramatically. Here, she's living and maturing in a... fairly safe envrionment, where no wars are currently raging, with people to love and protect her. Seema didn't have that luxury."

"I am just hoping." he searched for another topic. "How do you know the wolven songs?" He asked genuinely intriged.

"Seirei taught us about them soon after we first met," she said. "He never told us how he learnt them, or anything about his past really. The songs are the only thing I actually know about his childhood."

"Most songs are known to every wolf around the entire universe." He explained. "Seirei wouldn't talk about his past, just as I don't like talking about mine. We are more similar then you think. Yes, we are both wolves, but there is so much more than that. We have both been to war, we have both lost something or someone very close to us, and we have our own devils and demons that we face." He looked away towards the grasslands. "I am sure that he is out there somewwhere, having flashbacks and wondering what did he do to deserve any of this."

Mira nodded, thinking back to her childhood. She had never experienced war, but her friend Neflie knew. Mira, too, had lost someone dear, despite never knowing them. Her eyes welled up with tears she refused to shed. She had the heavy guilt of leaving her parents on her heart.

Kiba saw her try not to cry, so he held her close, comforting her. "It seems that you also know the pain. It is a horrble scar that never really goes away does it?"
