"Hehe sorry, Tersias, I wasn't ignoring you." He absent mindely licked the wine off his nose as he watched her tentively drinking.
"I guess you're almost all grown up" he smiled kindly.

"I'm ok thanks" she smiled at Kiba, then turned back to Seirei. "So the blue fur and the sudden growth spurts didn't give it away? At all?" she laughed, then suddenly flushed for no apparent reason

Kiba smiled at the pair. They were so innocent and absolutly adorable together. they would make an excellent couple.

Seirei laughed, "I guess not" He smiled kindly again at Tersias when she blushed. He pulled her closer to him so that she was snuggled up to his chest. She really had grown, he didn't have to be gentle anymore to prevent himself crushing her.
As they all sat there in the cool shade of the holiday home, Seirei noticed that the sun wasn't shining so brightly through the windows. He walked out the front door and gazed up at the sky. Not a single patch of blue sky was visible though a blanket of grey clouds. Every now and then a rumble could be heard in the distance.

She shivered a little, then nuzzled his snout and giggled. "Do you wanna go swim?" she smiled

A cold breeze had picked up which ruffled Seirei's thick fur, making him shiver slightly. Drizzle had started to fall lightly onto the beach, turning the white sand into a dirty yellow.
"No." he said firmly. He looked up into the sky and sighed. "I'm gonna have to fly up there for a little while, to see if the storm is coming this way. If it is, I'll be able to warn Kiba so he can border up his home."
He looked down at Tersias and looked into her eyes. "Promise me, you won't go in the water until I get back?"

She nodded "Okay" she said quietly, a little scared. She licked his nose "Be careful, okay?" She looked up into the sky, "What do I do if it gets any heavier?" she asked, watching as the water grew choppy. "Is it safe to go back inside? Or not?" She snuggled up to him "Please be careful Seirei" she said quietly, nuzzling his nose with her own. "It's windy and I don't want you getting blown away"

Seirei placed his head on top of hers. "Don't worry," he said, trying to reassure her. "I won't be gone too long, it'll be fine. And if the weather gets worse, go inside with Kiba and help him border up the windows, ok?"
He laughed at what she said last, "Don't worry, no wind's got the better of me yet!"
And with that final attempt at a cheery farewell, he stepped back a few paces, and then kicked off, up into the dark sky.
As he flew higher, the wind suddenly grew fierce and he had to tense his wings as much as he could, so that he wouldn't be blown off track. The rain was coming down like bullets now, blurring his vision and making his body ache with cold.
Just a little farther...and I'll be above the clouds... he said to himself, as a way of encouragement more than anything.
He continued to climb, losing track of the time. It seemed to take ages to fly in these harsh conditions. Every few metres he rose, he seemed to be knocked back by a strong gust of wind from the north. Eventually he could tell that the clouds were thinning above him.
"Aha, must almost be there..." he panted to himself.
Suddenly, an unexpected fork of lighting came out of nowhere. Seirei tried to avoid it, but it was too late. The pure force of the charge sent him hurtling down towards the black sea below him. He crashed down onto the tossing waves, and was lost underneath the surface.

Tersias watched him go, terrified for him. These were bad conditions to walk in, let alone fly. He was clearly struggling, and tears welled up in her eyes as she stood on, watching, but she blinked them back. "He'll be fine" she told herself cheerily. "He always is, he's a founder after all." It was then that the lightning came from nothingness. Seirei clearly was as surprised by it as Tersias, as he panicked to swerve out of the way, but failed. "SEIREI!" she screamed, terrified. "What do I do?" she muttered to herself "I promised him I wouldn't go in the water till he got back, but if I don't he might not get back..." She looked at the water tentatively, it looked very choppy, but she was a strong swimmer. "I have to try, for Seirei" she said to herself "It's for Seirei, it's for seirei" she chanted over and over, as she edged towards the water. She took a deep breath and dived in. At first, all went well. She had very nearly reached Seirei, it was gonna be ok, and then the water got deeper, and choppier, and she found a current dragging her under. She pulled herself to the surface, screaming Seirei's name desperately, trying to wake him up. By now Seirei had floated to the surface. Seeing him, she struggled to reach him. "Seirei..." she whimpered, climbing on top of his unconscious form and collapsing.

The waves tossed Seirei's limp body around in the water, some dragging him down deeper underwater, some flipping his body over and over. At last his head finally broke the surface, his wings out-stretched so that he floated there, every now and then waves splashing his face.
Soon, a groan could be heard from his chest and he opened his eyes. Every inch of his body ached from the blast and the cold. He felt so weak he couldn't move, it was as if the waves were keeping him prisoner. With his failing vision, where dark spots of unconsciousness threatened to take him again, he saw Tersias' still body, lying on top of his stomach.
What could he do? He hadn't the strength to move, he couldn't save her. Tears started to stream from his chilled eyes.
"I love you..." he sobbed, "Please Tersias, wake up...I love you..."
He almost blacked out again with the effort of speaking, but something inside of him sparked a new sort of energy within. He wouldn't let her die. He wasn't going to give up. With every bit of strength he could find, he started to kick his back legs against the water. Every movement caused his limbs agony as he slowly inched his way through the water.
After a long time he finally felt the shore underneath him, and there he collapsed, sinking down into the darkness. Both of them lay there, as if peacefully asleep.

Mira had been swimming at the time when the storm had started, but wasn't too bothered since her coat was already wet. She only paid particular attention to the storm when she saw the silhouette of Seirei shoot up into the sky.
She watched him fly tensely upwards, and gasped as a bolt of lightning struck him, causing her good friend to plummet back to the earth, and splash into the waters.
Immediately, she used her powerful swimming muscles to surge herself forwards in the water. In the distance, she could see the blue-white form of Tersias on the shore, then diving into the water to save Seirei.
Swimming faster, she used her often-dormant water teleportation power. Since she never used it much, she was off by a metre, but she quickly swam towards them, finding Tersias unconscious, and Seirei nearly so. Beneath the water, Seirei found the strength in him to kick towards land.
Mira used her powers to shift some of the current so that he would reach land quicker. After what seemed like ages, they reached the shore, where Seirei fell unconscious.
Shaking her fur, which was pointless due to the rain hammering down, she dragged the two canines further up the shore and to safety. Here, she lay down nearby, and kept an eye on them, wondering when they would wake.

Tersias awoke, shaking with cold, aching all over. The wind pierced through her wet, matted fur, and she whimpered a little, trying to remember what had happened. Then she remembered - the storm. "SEIREI!" she suddenly squeaked, looking around for him, desperate to know he was alright. When she found him, unconscious, she began to cry again. "Seirei, get up, silly!" she squealed frantically "You gotta get up, please!" she shook him with her little paws, "Seirei!" she sobbed "Seirei PLEASE!"

Seirei continued to fall into darkness, deeper...and deeper...
He could not feel Tersias shaking him with her paws. He continued to lay there, breathing slowly, but motionless.
Tersias....be...ok...
He didn't mind dying, as long as she was safe. He thought he would drift in the darkness for eternity, but something was bringing him back...Tersias' voice...calling out to him. He felt himself rising out of the black.
As he lay there on the beach, having been dragged further up by Mira, his leg twitched.

Mira dashed forward as soon as Tersias had woken. She watched the scene in half-hope, and half-despair, not knowing which would win.
Then... Seirei's leg... it twitched. Mira almost cried out in joy.
"Seirei," she called out softly. "Come on Seirei, wake up..." She paused, then leant forward to whisper in his ear. "We need you... She needs you... Wake up, wake up..."

"SEIREI!" she screamed, starting to get scared now "Please don't leave me, I ain't got nobody else!" She was by now standing on his chest, licking at his face to wake him up "SEIREI!" the tears continued to fall think and fast "You can't die Seirei, we've only just found each other, please!"

Seirei struggled to break free of the darkness. He hung onto Mira's and Tersias' voices, his only lifelines. Whimpers like a wounded dog came quietly from his throat, his head curling forwards and backwards as he tried to wake up.
Slowly, his eyes opened, yet only as far as little cracks, just letting the light in. The pain seared twice as badly across his back now that he was regaining consciousness. Deep red cuts could be seen through his fur where the lightning had struck.
"M-Miraa...? Is that you..?" He could jsut make out a feline shape in front of him. "Where is ..Tersias?"

"Seirei!" she all but shouted. "You're alive!" Grinning, she answered his questions. "Yes it's me, and Ters... she's on your chest."
