It was the morning after the ceremonious birth of Seirei and Tersias' five pups and Seirei awoke to warm sunshine peeking through the sky light in the ceiling of his home. He raised his head off of Tersias' warm fur and got off the bed as carefully as he could, not wanting to wake her. At the end of their bed lay the basket, that basket full of the other loves of his life: his new family. He nuzzled one of them gently with his nose and the little pup gave a squeaky yawn, it's eyes slightly opened. Seirei smiled, they were so cute. He slowly lifted them out of the basket one by one onto a spare blanket and placed them in a little line, making sure they were still warm of course.
"Two girls ... three boys ..." he said to himself. He felt that it was time to name them, he already had a few ideas but he would wait until his mate woke up so they could decide together. Biting on two corners of the blanket, he picked them all up with his mouth and walked back to the bed, nuzzling beside Tersias, the pups between them.

Shiro was walking through the woods, just to get out for a little bit, when she realised she was outside Seirei and Tersias's home. "Might as well stop to say hi." She said to herself. She walked over to the inner door through the hallway and knocked gently, not sure if they were up yet.

Seirei turned his attention from the five little yapping pups to the door when he heard an unfamiliar knock. He rose from the bed again and went to unbolt the door; he made sure it was always locked these days. He was fairly surprised to see Shiro standing on the other side, she did not visit often, but he smiled, happy as he always was for a visitor.
"Hello, Shiro, please come in. You're up early." He gestured towards the only chair in the den, a large armchair that was placed by the fire.

"I never really got to sleep to tell you the truth. I stayed down with Kiba last night, but I was too afraid to sleep. Sorry if I woke you." She said quietly, fairly sure the others were still asleep.

Seirei nodded, "I guess it must be hard to sleep during his difficult time. And no, it's no trouble, i've been awake for a little while. I'm just waiting for Tersias to wake so that we can start thinking about names for those five little ones over there. I think Mira and Hiruko are still sleeping in the spare room but I won't disturb them."

"Ok. So how are the pups? I heard she had them a little early and I just want to check." She asked. She was also curious to see what the pups look like, but she would probably see them before long anyway, so no need to rush things.

Tersias woke with a long, squeaky yawn, and then a tiny, cutesy little sneeze. Opening her eyes, she laughed, "Oh, hi Shiro" she said, feeling a little awkward that she'd slept while guests were around. "You're up early"

She smiled, "Yes, I guess I am aren't I?" She turned to Seirei and whispered, "Please don't say anything yet, at least until he gets better. No use in worrying her is there?"

Seirei showed he understood with a subtle nod. He walked over to Tersias and licked her on the nose. "Heyyy sleepy head. Have a good rest? Look who came to say hi" he grinned and looked down at the little fluffballs snuggled up in the blanket on the bed.

Shiro looked at the tiny little pups. "Awww they are so cute aren't they? Just little balls of fluff aren't they?" She smiled.

She smiled and yawned again "You can hardly blame me for being tired though, can you? Wasn't exactly an easy night for me" she chuckled, and snuggled her head into the soft fur under Seirei's chin. She then turned to the pups, licking the tops of their heads clean gently. One of them, the one that looked like Seirei, was yapping and yowling, wriggling around. "Seirei, what do I do? I dunno what he needs!" she whispered, embarassed in case Shiro thought her a bad mother.

Mira awoke in unfamiliar surroundings, but with a very familiar presence beside her. Reluctantly pulling herself from Hiruko's warmth, she looked around her, and recognised where she was; Seirei and Tersias' den. The birth the previous day had gone well, and Mira was eager to see the cubs again. Yawning, she jumped off the bed, and made her way to find her friends. "Morning," she said, when she found them.

Seirei laughed at the sight of the little boy pup, the miniature him. "I think he's hungry Ters. They probably all are. Maybe you could try giving them some of your milk? Maybe you could help, Mira."

She smiled "I shouldda realised that really" she chuckled, laying beside the cubs, nudging them in the right direction with her head. She was curled around them, protecting them instinctively. "And it's cool, I got it." "Morning Mira" she said happily, still directing the cubs towards her.

Seirei smiled warmly, obviously the unconfident mother knew it all anyway, it was a natural thing. "So, I was thinking that we should name them this morning. We've discussed names and now I think we're ready to make it official."

Mira smiled at the sight of the cubs. They really are so adorable, she thought. "How is everyone?" she asked the room at large, though it was mainly directed at the new mother, concerned about her health and the cubs' health, too.
She turned to Seirei, excited. "Oh, I'm so glad. It'll be a lot easier when talking about one or two cubs in particular instead of saying 'the one that looks like Tersias'," she grinned.

Ters chuckled "Well they won't always look like this. Pretty soon I dare say they'll be bigger than me!" she laughed and licked Seirei's nose. "It's cos you're so dang tall!
