It was getting late now and the cold had increased in strength over the hours. Hiruko had been sitting at the Stone Circle talking to Mira for hours and already the moon was above them. "Once again, it couldn't be a more beautiful evening," he said staring at the moon. Then he turned to Mira. "For I have my Mira to brighten the night." Hiruko's ears twitched. Something wasn't right. Something was out in the long grass and was heading rapidly to where they were standing. "Mira!" Hiruko whispered. "Get down." He pushed Mira quickly but steadily to the floor and hid behind one of the huge stones. The movement was getting louder and louder.

Mira had been joyfully talking to Hiruko for hours on end, until Hiruko had worriedly pushed her down to hide. "What is it?" she asked in hushed tones. "Who is it?" Her eyes showed her worry and curiosity, but held no fear.

"I'm not sure," Hiruko said. Then his crystal began pulsating quickly. He sniffed the air and smelt a familiar scent. "Koatia?" Hiruko mumbled low under his breath. "Mira, it's Koatia! Stay down." The sound of Koatia's footsteps followed shortly after. However he was not alone. Hiruko couldn't see anyone because they were hiding behind the stone but he heard voices. "Grab the crystals, Seema," he said gruffly. "They are on that pillar." Hiruko's eyes widened. "The cubs' crystals?" he whispered puzzlingly. "What does Koatia want with their crystals?" He turned to Mira. "We have to do something."

"I remember Seirei telling me about a vision Tersias had..." she trailed off, her face the picture of a shocking realisation. "They want the cubs! I don't know why, but they want them!" Mira's expression held mostly worry, but with undertones of anger and helplessness.

"We cannot let this happen," Hiruko said, standing up. "I wouldn't do that if I were you!" Koatia turned around whilst Seema continued on an attempt to grab the five glistening crystals. "So, Hiruko, you survived I see," Koatia growled, his electric blue eye staring straight through him. "And I thought you'd never manage to collect the Kumorishi." Hiruko glared at him and replied, "Well at least one of us managed to get it. And fortunately that was me." Koatia snarled and walked towards him with blinding rage. "Give it to me now!" he roared. "I can't," Hiruko laughed. "I've hidden it where you cannot get to it. Now step away from those crystals Seema!" Seema wasn't listening and was reaching for them when Hiruko summoned a giant green burst of earth energy and fired it her. She fell to the ground and snarled beastily.

"Koatia, I have no idea why you would dare show your face here, or you, Seema," she rounded on the fallen vixen. "I thought you'd been banished."
"Yes, but that only applied if I had left," she shot back coldly, growling under her breath.

"It doesn't matter anyway," Koatia beamed his toothy smile. "We are going to set Hayashi free after we have done our job. He will become our apprentice, as he should be right now." "Not if we can help it!" Hiruko shouted. He knocked Koatia to the ground and threw a few blows to his face. Koatia grabbed Hiruko by the neck in his jaws and threw him into the stone. Hiruko stood up dizzily but shot Koatia with an energy burst. Koatia responded by hurtling a blue flame towards Hiruko which he narrowly dodged. "Look out Mira!" Hiruko shouted as the blue flame swept past her, missing her by inches.

Mira crouched low as soon as she saw the blue flame heading to her, and sent out a blast of water at Koatia. The wolf dodged it, but Mira made the blast follow him around. However, since Hiruko was still recovering from being thrown about, and Mira was focused on the energy she was sending out in the water, both missed seeing Seema shoot forward to grab the five empty crystals.
"Koatia! I've got them!" Seema yelled over the noise of Mira's blast.

It was all over in a flash. Hiruko stood up dazed. The last he saw was Koatia and Seema running off into the distance. "Mira! Are you okay?" he said running over to her to check that she wasn't injured. "They took the crystals! Mira, we must go to Hayashi. Perhaps he can help us. He is willing to take our side. Maybe he could pretend to be working for them? It would help us out a big deal now that Koatia and Seema have the crystals."

"I'm fine," panted Mira, eyeing the retreating forms of Koatia and Seema. "Just a bit tired from using so much energy..." She listened to Hiruko's proposition. "If you're sure it will work, we can give it a shot. Shall we go see if it works?"

Glad to see that Mira was merely weakened by the energy loss, Hiruko nodded and ran briskly to Hayashi's prison. His eyes were closed as his ran. He could sense his brother from almost anywhere. After about fifteen minutes of running, Hiruko finally reached the spot of teleportation to Hayashi's prison. "Are you ready to teleport?" Hiruko said to Mira.

Mira managed to keep up with Hiruko as they ran to where Hayashi's prison was. "Go for it," she said, panting only slightly. Mentally, she prepared herself for the teleportation into the cell.
