A low snarl sounded in Seirei's throat at Shiro's tone. I know Kiba is still in there ... he has to be... Seirei stood up suddenly, accidentally bumping his leg on a nearby table.
"I need some air..." he muttered and strode out of the house, towards the shingly beach that surrounded the cliffs.

Shiro followed him out, albeit quietly. "I am sorry about that. I never meant to say that. But that's just how I feel. If you would have seen the destruction he casued when he first changed, you might agree as well." She said quietly. "I really do hate to see him like that, it's just...." She stopped at that point. She explained herself and apologised, she didn't want to say anything she might regret later.

Seirei kicked a small pebble into the heaving waves, the high tide only exposing a narrow stretch of the shingled beach as the sun began to set. "I know, Shiro. I'm sorry for suddenly walking out like that. I guess it's just that side of me that can't stand to be useless. Hopefully the week will pass quickly and then we can forget about the whole thing...until the next time anyway..."

Shiro looked away sadly. "It's not your fault really. This is your first time seeing him like that, but yes, hopefully it will pass quickly. Kiba isn't in there, or if he is he is really deep... The things he did.... He would never do otherwise. That is how I know."
She looked towards Seirei. "Do you know the scar on his chest? I think he showed it to you... Mother gave it to him the first time he changed. That is a reminder for him of what he will always be. It haunts him almost every day of his life."

Seirei looked down at the pebbles around his feet, his tail swishing left and right slowly. "What kind of mother would do that to their own child. . .?"
He started walking up the slope to the house again, the sea breeze having calmed him down a little. The air was growing chilly as the light faded. Immediately after he crossed the threshold of Kiba's door, he walked down the steps towards Kiba's chamber. There he settled himself next to the door and closed his eyes, listening to the clink of chains and snarls coming from the other side. He would stay there all night, just to keep Kiba company.

"It was self defense, he tried to kill her." She watched him walk away, not sure if he had heard her. She watched the sun set beautifully over the horizon, the world seemingly oblivous to her brothers pain.
She ended up sitting at the top of the steps after she brought Seirei down two blankets. One for him and the other for Kiba. She settled down and fell asleep listening to the sounds from below, not brave enough to be down there like Seirei.
She gave a sad smile down the darkened stairway, barely whispering, "Good night, Little brother."

Seirei was half asleep when Shiro gave him the blanket. Unaware of what she had said down at the cliffside, he rested his head on his paws, still believing that there was hope. He tried to resist sleep, but as it grew later he finally closed his eyes, the snarls from the chamber fading as he fell down into the darkness of his dreams.
