[CIEL CITY - FORMER REGION OF TIALKA, NOW DELETED]
Seirei had been gliding casually through the night sky above the vast expanse of the desert; he had chosen to fly here as it was warmer than the rest of Lacina and did not fancy freezing his wings off above the mountains or the ocean as winter drew closer and closer. As the time passed, he considered turning back to his den and his family when he saw a familiar silhouette in the distance. Ciel City lurked behind the passing clouds, illuminated by the strong glare of the white moon, adding an eerie touch to the ruggid floating place.
Having only been there once before, and had encountered some unexpected company lurking there, he did not know quite what to expect this time around. However, he was fairly certain there was a small chance of himself being attacked, seeming as they had banned the previous intruders. He thought through all the possibilities in his head as he flew closer and closer, until he landed in an open clearing of grass on the outskirts of the floating citidel.
Trusting his sharp vision to guide him threw the darkness, he wandered through two large stone pillars - the remains of an arch he thought, the top having crumbled away in time - and came to an encircled courtyard of former glory. The marble flagstones cracked and grey, matching the surrounding buildings. Seirei imgained they, too, were once fine, their decorated fronts now chipped, wood rotting in places.
He stood at the centre and continued to gaze around. What could have caused everybody to suddenly leave like this? Was there an invasion of creatures from another world, like the ones they saw earlier in the year? Seirei imagined that the city must have been quite abundent, what with the sign of wealth in front of his eyes. What could have scared the hearts of those who lived here to abandon their homes?
