After Nat got herself settled in the hot water, Seirei's momentary flush subsided. The dingo seemed more focussed on looking after her body than socialising. Seirei felt slightly concerned, wondering what Nat could have been doing to acquire such injuries. Not wanting to pry, however, he zoned back into the friendly conversation going on around him.
"Hayashi, hmm?" Seirei had never really spent much time alone with Hayashi. Whenever they had met, the tiger was always with his brother. "Well it can't be denied, as sharp as my eyes are, I can never see absolutely everything from above, especially in forested areas." An idea suddenly struck him. "Hey! I know!" Seirei was sure that Hiruko would encourage the idea, especially at the current time. "How would it be if you joined the watch? You know, covering the land in shifts, keeping an eye out for any suspicious activity. I do as many as I can in the air, and Hiruko does too as far as I'm aware. But we both have families to think of too, so it would be great to have some additional eyes."
Seirei realised that he was asking quite a lot from someone he barely felt a connection with, but there were not many of them out there, and Tialka was a great mass of land to cover, of what they had discovered so far. Who knew what lay beyond the north or if there was more beyond the ocean that surrounded them.

A sudden rush of emotion swept through Hayashi as Seirei suggested that he became part of the watch. He felt a part of something among the Tialkians, a sense of belonging. This was his chance to prove to them that he was willing to fight for their side.
A small smile curled across his muzzle as he spoke, "I would be most honoured to assist." His smile was genuine yet he still held a sense of coolness about him.
He turned to Nat who seemed injured and since no one had openly picked up on it, Hayashi decided to verbalise his concern. "Are you okay?" he spoke calmly to her whilst not building up too much of a fuss.

Kiryu smiled. Hayashi would make a fine addition to the watch. He lost himself in thought, toying with the idea. Perhaps he would have joined himself, yet trouble had little difficulty finding him in Tialka.
He sighed, a bad omen, a sign of dark things to come. The damned walked the earth! Sinking into the water, he sighed deeply, the bubbles ascending to the surface, popping before his eyes.

Seirei was pleasantly surprised with Hayashi's enthusiasm to join the watch rota. He smiled and placed a paw on Hayashi's shoulder across from him. "Good to have you!" Seirei was certain that by giving the tiger some sense of duty and routine, he would find it easier to settle into a Tialkan life, as hectic as it was these days with all the precaution.
Deciding that he was now far too warm for his own liking, for he had been in the hot spring for a while now, Seirei made his way out of the pool and shook himself off. The cold bite of the mountain wind caught him and he shivered, waking him up from his doziness. Not wanting to return home just yet however, he sat down at the edge to still be part of the conversation, wrapping his wings around himself to keep off the chill.

Hayashi smiled with pride, a warm sensation trickling through his body that had nothing to do with the hot springs.
There was a small silence as Seirei left the springs to stand beside them on the sides. It was at that moment that Hayashi noticed how large Seirei actually was. He towered over them in the springs and Hayashi was glad that he was now on the Tialkians side.
"It's been considerably quiet here," Hayashi said awkwardly as Kiryu had receded into the water. "I can see why the peace would want to be kept here." And yet, he knew that every day that passed was another day for Koatia to build on his plans. He has never succeeded before, not with the strength of the Tialkians against him, he thought.

Nat had been so relaxed and caught up within her thoughts that she did not realise Hayashi had asked her a question. When she finally looked up to answer him, he was already in a different conversation not related to his question.
"Peace never lasts," Nat spoke out loud for the first time. "There is always something that causes chaos to erupt when we are at our most vulnerable." She spoke with a wisdom that belied her young age. "You must always be prepared," Nat advised.
