<<OOC - I'll step in on the posts I was reading them anyway >> Relieved that Seema had stepped in to take care of Kai, Hiruko untensed his muscles a little more. He was more than happy for guests to stay in his home but it was awkward whilst the cubs were so young and he was trying to look after a family. "Indeed, Seema's house is nearly finished," Hiruko added. "You will be safe there until you have fully recovered. Then we can begin discussing your own residence in Tialka." Hiruko couldn't help but notice the sadness in Kiryu's voice as he began to edge towards the door. "You are welcome to stay here, Kiryu," he offered. Kiryu's home was such a long distance away and Hiruko wondered if he really did enjoy being so isolated from them all... An unusual connection flashed momentarily between Seema and Kai, Hiruko only caught it at a glimpse. It was a brief second of pre-evaluated understanding between them. But this was impossible, they had barely gotten to know each other as far as Hiruko was aware. Brushing it from his mind, he got up and began preparing himself for the move. "Shall we bring Kai over to your place now, Seema?"

Seema laughed a little at Kurai's hesitance. "I've watered it down so it won't hit you so hard, and thrown a stimulant in so that it won't knock you out like last time" she smiled, "There's only a very small amount of Paralox in it this time, so even if it hasnt been weakened down very much it won't be enough to hit you like last time."
As Kiryu turned to leave, Seema's face fell a little as she realised she was putting him off by having Kurai to stay. "Kiryu, it'd be ever so good if yourself and Hiruko would like to help Kai over, but I'd love it if you could stay for a little while. The house is still ever so empty and some company would really help it to feel like home...?" she said hopefully. As much as she wanted to help Kurai, she didn't want it to isolate her from those few friends she had made. "If Hiruko is ok with that, that is...?"

Kiryu appreciated the invitation, it was not often he left Isel Falls these days. "I'm sure I would have to be ok with that as well" he jumped in, trying his best to look quite serious, after a brief pause he relaxed smiling. "It would be my pleasure to keep you company on this fine evening!" he exhaled cheerfully.
He nodded at Hiruko, indicating to Kurai. "Same method as before, load him onto my wing, If you could hold him in place and Seema leads the way. We'll get him there in no time, any objections?" he asked.

Kurai decided that it would not hurt trying the new concoction of Seema's. He took a single big gulp as Seema touched the rim of the container to his lips. Well, I'm still conscious, that's a start ... he thought to himself, as he waited a minute or two for the substance to kick in. His body relaxed a little as the pain gradually washed away. He breathed a sigh of contentment, "That's better..." His head felt a little woozy, but he managed to prop himself up a little as Hiruko and Kiryu lifted him in the same way as before.

"I reckon we have about 15 minutes before that starts to wear off... That should be long enough to get him across to the house and comfortable." she said briskly with a little smile. "But only if we get started now" she said, standing and putting her bag back over her shoulder. "It's this way, guys" she smiled, looking over her shoulder towards the others as they prepared to leave. Pausing to wait until they were ready, she straightened her scarf.
Once all was prepared, she began to lead the way, through the thickets and forest until they reached a tall, slim tree with white bark. Up in the branches nestled a white wooden house with two windows on each side, but no visible doors. "This is us. The staircase is narrow, so I'm afraid Kai may have to try this bit on foot." She said. "Welcome to my humble abode."
Approaching the tree, she swept a large, leafy branch away from the trunk, to reveal a doorway and a narrow, winding staircase. "After you" she smiled, beckoning Hiruko and Kiryu up. "I'll come up last, in case Kai stumbles."

Kai was carefully balanced Kiryu's wing, the reduced dosage of Paralox meant that he was responding more to outside Stimuli.
"Hold him tight!" Kiryu stuttered as he lost his footing due to a small hole in the floor, too focused on creating a sling for Kai. He quickly scrambed to his feet, laughing it off as he continued moving forward.
Upon arriving at Seema's house, he let Kai down on his feet. Briskly moving his wing to the wolf's back, preventing him from falling backwards. He stretched his muscles out a little, taking in the treetop home. And I live in a cave, he chuckled, admiring the recent build. The faint scent of paint still hanging in the air.
"Guess it's not ladies first" he said, clambering into the stairway. His small frame providing him easy passage. He stretched his wing, curling it around the wolf. Hauling the slightly inebriated Kai, his tattered wing was feeling the burn, due to today's intense workout. I'd personally prefer it, if he did not fall on my friends, the thought spurring him onward.
The winding staircase circled the tree a few more times, before Kiryu finally emerged into the lounge. The room had very little furniture, but this accentuated the amount of space Seema had to work with.

Seema entered the living room behind the others, who had made it up the stairs without incident. She smiled, "Wait here a second and I'll get you guys something to sit on" she said, nipping through a small door into an adjoining room.
She re-emerged a few minutes later with three small bales of hay, stacked upon one another, between her paws. Putting them down, she pulled 3 large squares of roughly cut cloth from her bag and spread them over the top. "I'm still very much at a make do and mend stage" she chuckled apologetically. "The cloth will be curtains eventually, and I'm in the process of getting hold of some proper furniture."
The makeshift seats set up for her three guests, she turned her attention to the fireplace in the centre of the room. It was small, so as not to produce too much heat for the little house, and unlit. She threw a little kindling in and lit it, and it threw a warm, welcoming glow around the room.
"I like to call this room my snug" she smiled, fetching herself a hay bale and sitting down with the others. "I cook and entertain in here. Through there is my bedroom, and a storage cupboard" she indicated the door she had gone through to fetch the hay, "And through there is my spare room. Normally it's a playroom for Tersias' cubs, but it will make a perfectly functional guest room for you to stay in, Kai" she smiled.

"It definately looks like a home now, Seema," Hiruko said, impressed by the little improvements she had made. He personally liked living in tree homes. Perhaps it was the fact that he enjoyed being surrounded by nature, or maybe it was the warmth and snugness of the space inside of the trunk that made it such an appealing home.
As Kai settled in, Hiruko took a seat on the 'homemade' seats. Despite being quickly thrown together for them, it was very comfy. "Will you be alright here, alone with Kai?" he asked cautiously. "Not that I don't trust you Kai, of course. I'm just wondering if you are okay coping with him on your own?" Secretly, he was concerned about Seema. Kai hadn't exactly opened himself up to the rest of them and didn't often go out of his way to socialise. Hiruko was simply concerned for a small fox like Seema shut in her own home with a large injured wolf that they knew little about. However, his lack of trust in Kai would only backfire for Kai to lose his trust in him so he let it go.
"I can come and help out when I can if you'd like?"

Seema smiled warmly. "That's very kind of you to offer, Hiruko, but to be honest, I'll just be glad to have someone else in the house while I'm still settling in. It makes it feel more like a home. And it shouldn't be too long before Kai is back on his feet, I shouldn't think."
Realising it may sound like she didn't want Hiruko or Kiryu around, she quickly backtracked a little. "Not that I don't want visitors! You're all more than welcome." she smiled broadly, "I just didn't want you thinking that I wouldn't be able to cope on my own, is all." she blushed a little. She definitely didn't want to put people off of visiting - far from it.

The stairs were not as bad as Kurai thought they would be, what with Seema's medicine and Kiryu supporting his weight as they all made the ascension slowly but surely. He was grateful, however, to lie down in the room Seema had assigned for him. He was slightly disapproving of the mass of playthings, but he would have to make do. He had slept in worse, and it was only a matter of time until he was healed and ready to make his move.
The door was shut behind him, but he could still hear muffled voices through the wood. Curious, he shuffled along the floor until his ear was pressed to the door. He overheard the conversation between Hiruko and Seema, and a low growl rumbled in his chest.
So, Hiruko. You still don't seem able to fully trust me, do you? Sticking your nose into Seema's business. Offering your most humble services. Good thing Seema refused or you'd find yourself walking into something even you won't suspect. The timing was now crucial. With every day that passed, Hiruko's suspicions grew. Hopefully being away from the tiger's den would ease the situation and allow himself and Seema to fine tune their plans, but it would take a lot of caution from now on.

Kiryu smiled, her home was almost a complete opposite to what he was used to. He lifted the cloth / future curtains off the hay bale, folding them neatly. "Thank you for your hospitality, but I do not wish to damage your curtains" he smiled coolly, "if you need help building any furniture, I am pretty good at woodwork. I don't think I know anything about making curtains though" he offered, chuckling a little to himself.
"Kai should be healed within a few days Hiruko, especially considering Seema's talents as a nurse" he said reassuringly, before turning to Seema. "It was nice of you to take Kai in" a hint of jealousy plaguing his tone. He stretched his aching wing, stifling a yawn. "I can only hope he repays the favor" he noted, forcing a smile.

"It's okay, Seema," Hiruko said holding up his paws to calm and reassure her. "I understand perfectly. I just wondered if you'd be alright going from looking after five little wolves to one big one." He laughed a little, his voice cracking slightly in nerves. Something just didn't feel right...Hiruko was excellent at reading people, perhaps not fully but the fact that he had no clue about Kai was disturbing him. Stupid judging mind, give me a break! he thought to himself. Though his judgements had helped him before in the past, they were not always what they appeared to be. Seema and Hayashi were proof of this.
"I suppose we should leave them to it, Kiryu," Hiruko said as he saw Kiryu folding up the neat cloth. "At least Kai has someone he can truly rely on." He gave a wink at Seema and smiled sweetly at her. He was really enjoying her newly found personality. It suited her very well.

Seema smiled and breathed a small sigh of relief - Hiruko had understood her intentions and not been offended. As her blush receded, she stood to see the guests out.
"Feel free to stop by any time" she said to them both with a smile. "It's always nice to have visitors" she continued, catching Kiryu's eye for just a second and blushing again as her smile widened a little.
Darn it, face, stop blushing! she thought to herself as she felt her cheeks flush with warmth.

When Kurai was certain that the tiger and fox were gone, he opened the door of his room and limped out into the main room. He peered through one of the windows, watching their silhouettes fade away into the forest as they walked out of earshot. As soon as they were completely gone, he rounded on Seema in a flash. Injured as he was, his core strength was still powerful enough. Swinging his right front leg like a lightning bolt, he caught Seema at the throat and pinned her to the nearest wall, her body dangling a foot above the floor.
His voice was slick and deadly. He did not have to raise his voice to make the point quite clear. "If you ever - ever- embarrass me like that again, you can forget me keeping your little nieces and nephews out of harms way. You stick to the plan like your life depends on it, and I'll see to it that they don't suffer the same fate as their darling father!"
He turned away briskly, releasing his hold on Seema, who fell to the floor hard. He walked a few paces away from her, and then turned ... with a smile on his face, his expression completely changed. "Now how about I get this fire burning nice and hot, hmm? You can fetch some food and then we'll have a nice ol' supper round the hearth." He walked over to the little stove, humming a happy tune to himself. "It was very decent of you to let me stay here like this, Seema," he said as he poked the coals with a talon. "I do hope we can work together to get what we both want in the end."

Seema contained her fear, knowing it would do her no favours to let it rule her thoughts. When Kurai released her she shook off, letting the tension out of her muscles and taking a few deep breaths. It took all of her strength not to talk back to him - her quick tongue had always had a knack for getting her in trouble, and this situation would be no exception.
Saying nothing, she slunk into her bedroom, removing her muddied and messy scarf and changing it for a clean one, identical in almost every way. She stood at her window, her head spinning. This was a mistake. A massive, dangerous, terrible mistake and now it's too late to stop it. Stupid Seema. Always going along with things, why can't you just think for yourself?
Two emotions were fighting for control of her - anger and fear. Unfortunately for Seema, and indeed everyone around her, fear was definitely winning at this particular moment. And now she was trapped, with him in her house. All she could do was plaster a smile on her face and go along with it - at least until she could think of something else to do. So, grabbing her bag, a bow, and a quiver full of arrows, all of which she loaded across her shoulders, she breezed back into the main room with a smile bright enough to blind passers by.
"I take it you're not feeling up to a hunt?" she asked lightly, trying to seem disinterested.

Kurai chuckled. The laughter lacked any emotion, it sounded empty and cold. "I'd hardly be able to keep up now, would I?" He did not look at her as he spoke, but just sat by the heater as he listened to Seema's footsteps fade away down the freshly cut staircase. He would sleep for now. Tomorrow would bring new energy and new ideas. The time would soon be upon them. He would heal, then make his move, and by the looks of her, Seema knew she did not have a choice.
