Seirei led Tersias down the familiar path to his home, the den underneath the masive tree. They walked side by side, mate by mate, down the entrance hall and entered the large round room, lit by the round glass window in the ceiling that Kiba had made for him.
"Make youself at home." Seirei smiled.

Tersias smiled up at him, and looked around, sitting down on her back legs for a brief rest. "Now, are you sure about this Seirei? Cos I don't want you to be a Mister Silly and do something you'll want to undo tomorrow" she said in her queer, solemn, funny little way, her head cocked to one side, her large, dark eyes observing him casually. She lifted her front left paw up and examined it carefully, it had been stinging a little on the walk over. She sighed "Just a thorn" she chuckled to herself.

Seirei continued to smile, he couldn't help it when he was around Tersias, she made him happy.
"Positive. You don't have a home of your own and now that we're mates, I think it's acceptable for you to move in with me. I still have plans to extend the place but there is plenty of room for the both of us."
He went over to Tersias and licked her paw. "After all, I promised myself that I would never let any harm come to you." He quickly pulled the thorn out with two of his teeth, so that it wasn't as painful, like when someone quickly rips off a plaster and the pain quickly fades away.

She smiled "If you're sure", then she laughed a little as he pulled the thorn from her paw. "I could have got that myself you know, softy. I know I'm little, but I can reach my own paw" she put her paw down gently. "Not that i'm ungrateful, though" she smiled, and licked his nose. She looked around "I only just realised that me moving in here will involve absolutely no effort" she laughed "All I really have is this" she indicated the small communicator on her wrist "and my necklace". She smiled, but felt a little put out that all she had to call her own were a couple of trinkets. Lovely, useful trinkets, but trinkets nonetheless.

Seirei grinned, "I know, I know. I sometimes forget how much you've grown over such a short period of time." He licked her nose in return, and looked, also, at the dark disc on his wrist.
"Hehe, I guess your right." he laughed. "I don't think that an individual needs loads of objects to make her who she is, it's the people she meets and her personality that really makes who she is." His eyes twinkled down at her for a second, then he started making Tersias' bed.
"Would you like it by the fire? Or close to mine?" he gestured with his head at his own bed, at the other end of the room.

Tersias had spaced out for a minute as she considered what Seirei had said. It brought back lots of memories, some happy, some not so much, of all the people she had once known and loved. She wondered where they had ended up. Hearing Seirei continuing to talk, she shook herself out of her daze "I'm sorry, what did you say? I was in my own little world, where the sky is pink" she laughed.

Seirei smiled a little but his brow furrowed and he stopped what he was doing to sit next to her. "What's the matter? What's on your mind?"

"Hmm?" she looked up at him "Nothing's wrong" she smiled "I was just thinking, that's all. I do that from time to time, shocking I know, but it's true" she licked his nose, trying to keep the tone light, in the hope Seirei would drop it - she really didn't want to discuss this. Her mind's wanderings had reach her precious bank of memories of her parents, her dad especially. She found herself secretly wishing he was here to meet Seirei, not even thinking for a moment that her dad would have agreed with Seema (even though in truth he would have).

"Okey then..." he realised Tersias wasn't in the mood for talking about her past with him. He hoped that some day their trust would grow even further so she could tell him anything that was on her mind, but for now, he wouldn't push her.
He walked over to the large pile of hay he kept in a corner and made a round mound close to his own bed, then he covered it with a thick cloth to protect her from feeling any prickles of hay. On top of that he placed a soft sheet and tucked it round the edges of the "mattress". He added the final touches, a few soft cushions and pillows. "Whadda you think?"

She smiled at Seirei's creation. "It's nice, but there's something, just, not quite right" she looked thoughtful. She strode across the room, observing the bed from every angle, then nodded, "I've got it" she laughed, she gently nudged the bed with her head until it's edge met with the edge of Seirei's own bed. "Perfect" she smiled, and lay down, her head on her paws. The memories, however, niggled away at the back of her mind. "It's not that I don't trust you, just so you know" she muttered, looking at the floor. "I just don't really like talking about my -" she stopped short of the word "Dad" as the vision of the soldiers up in Ciel flashed across her mind again. She whimpered, covering her eyes with her paws, trying to block out the image. Her ears drooped, as they did when she was scared.

Seirei sat down on their joined bed, and tugged her gently so that she was close to him. He nuzzled his head into her neck and all was quiet for a moment. His tail curled round her like it always did, in that protective and affectionate way.
"Sssh...sshh..." he whispered. "I know what it's like. Such a strong memory it's painful to talk about. I've only just been able to talk about my past recently, and even then it was still difficult."

"It won't stay out of my head" she whimpered, the tiniest hints of anger and frustration lacing her voice. "Every time I close my eyes, he's there. And I knew it was gonna happen but I couldn't stop it, I just had to sit and wait to hear it had happened" tears wet her muzzle as she looked up at Seirei with her dark dinner-plate eyes. "I wish you'd met him" she sighed wistfully "He'd have loved you, I just know it. He'd have taken to you right away" she said, almost managing a little naive smile.

Kiba was wandering the woods when he recognised Seirei's house. He might as well stop by to see what the wolf was up to. He walked down but stopped at the door, hearing Tersias talking. So they are living together now, Kiba thought. This was probably a bad time, so he turned to leave, letting them finish whatever they were doing.

"I wish I could have met him too, he sounds like a nice person, a good father."
Seirei hated seeing Tersias upset. He pulled her tighter and started quietly humming a melody in her ear, a lullaby his own mother had sung to him when he couldn't sleep. He hoped that it would calm her down.
As he continued to sing to her, he thought he heard momement in the passageway. He thought it could be someone coming to vist but he wasn't entirely sure. If they wanted to come in he was sure that they'd knock.

She sniffed a little, calming down, but still a little upset. "I really miss him" she said softly, "More than I ever thought I would"

"I miss my father too..." Seirei didn't want to go into the details about him tonight, but he felt as if their bond was strengthened by the fact they had both had a loss in that way.
"I know this isn't really the best time to mention it... but it's been on my mind for a while now, and well... I wanted to know what you thought about...starting a family?"
He blushed a little, but it was something he had always wanted, to start a family away from misery and war.

She blushed too, hesitating a little. "I... you would really want a family with me?" She said nervously. "would the species divide stop us, though? I dont really know much about cross-breeding..."

"It's possible, i mean chromosomes wise. But if you're aren't ready I understand." he blushed a little deeper, "It was stupid of me to bring it up, i'm sorry."
