Seirei nuzzled Tersias' neck as she lay down. "I'll be here one hundred percent of the way, hun. You'll be fine, I know you will." As he said this he felt a little jump in his heart, remembering how young she was. He prayed to the stars that she would be alright.

She was scared, and felt a little lost "But it hurts, Seirei, it hurts more than the biggest hurting thing you ever saw!" she whimpered, tears streaming down her face "And its too soon, what if they're poorly?"

Kiba stepped in with the water, a worried and confused expression on his face. He had treated many wounds in his days, but he had never birthed anyone before.

Hiruko heard the news and ran in to find everyone surrounding Tersias. "How is everything?" Hiruko said anxiously. He was holding a deep violet flower with beautiful petals that were yellow and speckled with brown spots. "I'm so glad I got here before the newborns arrived," he said almost relieved but not completely. "I have something for the yound ones when they arrive. It's a Lulatus Flower. It's a symbol of life and new beginnings. Its for good luck."

"I know...I know" he hushed into Tersias' ear "But it's not seriously early, they will be a little smaller, but fine, I swear." He licked his mate on the nose. "And if the pain gets too much, we can bathe you in some nice warm water to soothe your muscles."
Seirei whipped his head round to see Hiruko standing behind him, slightly out of breath. "Hiruko!!" he dashed towards his old friend whom he had not seen in so long. "I'm so happy you are here."

Kiba just stood in the back, not feeling particularly useful. "Nice to see you Hiruko."

"Shh, Tersias," soothed Mira, beckoning Kiba to bring the water closer with a paw. "It'll be alright, the cubs will be fine, I promise." Quickly, Mira lay a towel near Tersias' hind legs, so the floor wouldn't get too messy. Mira looked up at Hiruko. "Heya," she said softly, a small smile on her face, and a tiny hint of jealousy in her eyes. I wonder if we will ever have cubs together, came the thought, before she could stop it.

Kiba brought the water over, still unsure of what to do.

She gulped back a small squeal of pain, and looked up at Hiruko, forcing a very weak smile "hey" she said quietly, her voice quivering, her ears twitching every so often as she bit back a scream.

"Hi everyone," Hiruko said. He had bags under his eyes and his fur was extremely ruffled. "I'm sorry that I haven't been here. I've been....away...". Hiruko had in fact been away from Lacina for quite some time. But it wasn't time for explanations here. Tersias needed all the support she could get. He placed the Lulatus Flower a few metres away from him and sat next to Mira facing Tersias, a concentrated but anxious look on his face. Nonetheless his mind was mainly on the birthing of the cubs. "Hi Mira," Hiruko spoke under his breath so no one could hear. "I'm sorry I've been away for so long now. Something has come up. But I'm here now. I swear I shall not leave you. I will try and be here more often like the devoted partner I should be. I'm so ashamed of the lack of support I have shown." Hiruko's gaze was distant. The matted fur on top of his hand had scarlet stains crusting around the fur and his eyes were a paler green the usual.

Seirei accepted the flower from Hiruko with a smile. "Thank you so much, let's hope it'll bring our pups luck." He screwed up his eyes as he heard Tersias squeal in pain, it was unbearable to hear the one you love in pain. He went back to her side and squeezed her paw with his.

"It's okay, Hiruko, I understand." Mira knew that she'd have to have a closer look at Hiruko. She noticed he wasn't looking very good.
"Okay," said Mira, picturing what needed to be done in her head. "Kiba, lay the water here," - Mira pointed at the place next to her, near Tersias' hind legs - "I want you to be ready to wash the cubs off as they come. They'll be covered in goo." She picked up a small towel. "Seirei, just comfort her, and Hiruko, could you go and get a basket with a cushion or two in it, please? We'll need somewhere to put the cubs." She herself was going to wipe Tersias' brow whenever it got too sweaty. "Tersias, In a few minutes, you're going to have to push, okay?"

"No" she said, shaking her head, "Too many people, I'm not pushing in front of all these people" she mumbled, "I'm scared enough as it is without an audience, Mira" she rolled her head back and let out a horrifying, rasping scream of pain as tears streamed down her face. It was getting too much to bear quietly.

Hiruko nodded and ran out to fetch the basket and cushions. He was back before he had even thought about it and placed it next to the Lulatus Flower. Plumping the pillows he returned to his seat next to Mira.

Seirei noticed that Hiruko looked haggered, as if he had been struggling to stay alive during his time away. This thought did not last long, however, as he needed to turn his attention back to Tersias. He nuzzled next to her, humming in her ear to distract her.

"Tersias, it's better to have more people, it'll make the birthing process go faster, okay?" she said, her eyes showing that it was clear that there was nearly no choice in the matter. "Kiba, are you ready?"

"What if IM not ready?" she squeaked, almost inaudible. She nuzzled into Seirei's thick fur, whimpering a little.

Kiba smiled and said, "I am ready, and whether you are ready or not, the cubs have decided haven't they?"
